I don't know who's more excited about that radish lol me or you. Once I'm relocated, I'm definitely doing some indoor veggie gardening. Be that weirdo that pays the power to grow some tomatoes inside, because weed is so over done :p nah, it's cool as hell man. stoked to see the survivors!
I can't wait to see if it has a whine to it when my can fan spools up :-D
While the paper towel method is for lack of better terms an ole hippy method one could surmise that the shot glass method is just as unnecessary of a step. I have used all methods and have had great success in germing using all of the methods. Think about it, why soak in a shot glass when you can go right into dirt and still have the same germ rates as paper towels or shot glass soaking. In nature the plant goes thru its life cycle dies and sheds its seeds directly onto the forest floor where it thru critters and wind, snow find its way down to the humus of the forest floor and sits until spring when the temps are such that germination can take place. So in keeping with a ala natural method straight to dirt seems the best way to go and then you remove 2 unnecessary steps 1. paper towels and 2. shot glass soaking.Looking good so far. Ime, the paper towel step is unnecessary. Soak the seeds in a shot glass of tap water for 24 hours, throw 1/4-1/2" in the dirt and if they're gonna come up, they'll come up. If they aren't, no paper towel or humidity dome or anything else is gonna make it. Even still, if they're a pain in the ass at that age, probably gonna be a pain in your ass their whole life.
Keep us posted, I've been curious about growing tuber type veggies indoors, have a yam plant growing right now but I'm at a loss of the next move to make with the damned thing.
Nice job thus far Mr. R. be careful with those carolina reapers. They are off the charts in scoville units. Trust me on that one.. :fire:View attachment 570158
The 7 radish plants that have sprouted are doing well (black pots).
A few more will show as the days pass.

The 6 green trays are bagseed.
5/6 are doing well getting chlorophyll in their cotyledons and first leaves are showing too.

1 of them is a runt the shell is gone but the leaves are whitish green still.
It is standing up and alive, it just needs to get some chlorophyll in its cotyledons and then open them up.

Hey jumpincactus,
The can fan is hung in the upper chamber hooked up to the fan speed controller. Everything works the Mercury 4 fan controller works with the can fan.

The mercury 4 fan controller is sweeet I'm glad I got it.

With the idle set low the 6" can fan is relatively quiet. I'm assuming that even at its lowest setting it will cycle 20 cu ft of air with no problem.
Now it's just a matter of hanging this giant charcoal filter (6"x16") lol.

Received my ph kit, earth juice (catalyst, grow, bloom), apollo 9 timer for the T5 lighting and fan in the lower chamber.

Ordered earth juice micro blast, a temp+humidity Guage, Carolina reaper seeds.

One method I have seen or heard of on many forums is scarifying the seed hull with a nail file or sand paper. This is a method I would not recommend as the chance of damaging the embryo is great if not done properly.
Like you said if the seed is viable it will pop no matter the method as long as there is adequate temps and moisture. :smoking:
Damn dude.... wisdom teeth extractions suck. Pretty brutal week of life afterwards too.
You're right though, our medical system is in shambles. Dentists aren't even doctors technically and there's a lot of twisted, crooked ones out there. Good luck with your extraction! The relief should be huge.
Basically passing judgement on the general population claiming your not responsible enough as a human being to use it responsibly.
Indeed, we had a pretty intensive thread about this going here for a while. It's not the doctors that are passing judgement willfully, they're covering their asses because the DEA will throw them in prison if they overprescribe. It's easier to just not give out the meds than to risk their neck for someone that potentially might sell or shoot up the drugs they prescribed. My ex worked in a pain clinic and they were always having to deal with these scenarios. This is also a key reason that doctors who prescribe meds do UAs and if the UA comes back THC positive, they'll revoke any scripts and in some cases drop the patient entirely. It's just to cover their asses at the cost of having real, detrimental impact on the patients.
That right there. It's the govt saying "you're not responsible enough to control your urges, so we'll throw you in jail for finding the relief from the pain you're experiencing." It's a great form of social control, and a major motivator for police to keep feeding the prison system. Unfortunately, those of us whom are responsible with most (if not all) aspects of our lives, including our drug usage, wind up caught in this dragnet and labelled accordingly. I'm using this as a key factor for my presidential vote this year as the current medical and drug scheduling systems are absolute failures and without having someone in office that will be willing to risk everything to change these systems, we won't see the change we desperately need.
