hello, im a beginner with auto banana blaze and a full spectrum 150w grow light, i want to grow only 1-2 plants in my closet.

i have been germinating my 2 seeds for 7 day and the root isnt even 1mm on one seed and no root on the other seed, when i put them both in water they both sank.
although i did use tapwater the first couple of days, the other 4 days i have used tapwater that was left standing for 2 days.
i did the wet paper method on a dish plate in a dark room, after 7 days when i saw the microroot on one seed, i put them both under the grow light.
note on the root: it was visible a couple of days ago, i think it turned into that white stuff you see on one seed because of mold I guess? (idk)

why didnt my seeds germinate (grow a 1cm root) or what did i do wrong??

brothers please help me, i love weed.

Most likely cause of die off at this point is too wet.
Also light can kill the tap root.
I have autos now and have learned a few steps from doing photos.
I use the damp paper towel in a sealed baggie method in a drawer in the night stand. Sleeping temps and germination temps are close enough although some strains need more heat.
Then right into final pot 1/2 inch under weak potting/seedling soil, just a divot in your regular medium.
When in soil either whole tent at 75-80 % or use a dome for humidity. I start them in a tent at 80 f. Dome until leafs and most folks pull it up to vent and make sure it's ready especially if you do not have environmental controls over humidity. Vent the dome and see if it stays upright.
Do not let little seedling turn into stretched little seedling. At 2nd set start getting the lights up. By 4th set I am at 25K lux.
Good luck

Well it could be too wet and rotted. You just want the towel to be damp not soaked and a warm humid undisturbed setting. As you may know folks have many different opinions on germination. I do use paper towels and a baggie which i blow up and zip it off place it in a warm area usually 48hrs enough tap root to place in a small soil cup. Then i place a clear cup over them to seal in heat & humidity and place them under light. till they pop up with their first set of leaf. Keep practicing.

update: it worked after using the germination method from "Strain Show" from youtube.com
/playlist?list=PLOBTnFP3AxNNuFYMFtZM9gGhNu9JPfWpF

they basically do this:
- heating pad at 22C
- ziplock bag 75% closed
- 2 wet cotton pads covering the seed
- seed
- dark place with ventilation
- tapwater left standing for 1 day

2-3 days later you get it

So just take your seeds put them in a shot glass full of water. Wait until you see the seed split while they’re still floating in the water and then plant them. They’ll grow. You’ll know if they’re viable the moment the seats start to split open.
