Hey there Im a first time indoor grower looking to learn as i grow. I have a 3x3 tent which i am looking to use the scrog method for 2 plants in soil. The plants have been in the tent for almost 3 weeks now under a mh (now 600 w) light. I am checking the ph and am currently adding calmag and silica to the water. I have not added any other grow nutrients yet but will be next watering. I transfered plants into their 3 gal smart pot last week after being in a quart sized container for 2 weeks. I hope that everything is growing smoothly. Its easy to see that the new growth is much lighter in color. Hopefully thats do to temp changes and i hope it will be alright. I will keep posting as we grow. Any suggestions or comments are welcomed with open arms!!! Peacepeace

I think they need some N. The slight yellowing tells you it is time to feed. What kind of soil? Why calmag?

Hey hey. I am using Sanctuary soil Empire Builder which was recommended by my local grow shop. He said he likes it better than the FFOF so i took his word. The calmag silica combo advice i took from a local. When i first bought my clones they showed signs of deficiencies. I was told that adding a little to every watering cannot hurt. I will start to read more about that right now. I will add grow nutrients next time I water them. Hopefully the nitrogen will help with the light green new growth. Thank you very much for reading and responding!!!!

Hello everyone!! So the plants are continuing to grow in their veg state.. i thought that everything was going smooth until today. Ive noticed strange leaf patterns on one plant but was hoping that it would straighten itself out. That is the least of my worries though...... IS THAT A BANANA FORMING ON THE ODD LOOKING BRANCH??? Is my plant turning Hermi on me?? I truely hope not and if so is possible to cut that one branch off??

It herm'd in veg? Not a good sign. Sounds like something is off for sure.
Are you running 18-6? 12-12?

@Homesteader
Hey thanks for a quick response!! Mh light at 18/6 and temps have been min 68-max 81 for the past week. The suspect is in the last photo i posted...i will be keeping a close eye on it. That whole branch is looking funky..weird leafs including single non serrated leafs. I believe it was a result from topping. I hope that i am wrong!! But that lil odd ball growing on the stem has me worried fo sho.

I would just get rid of it, but you could try just cutting off the sack and driving on. My guess is it will continue though.

Hello again. So after a few beers and a lot of staring one night i ripped the suspect off. I kind of regret that now and wish that i left it to see what it turned into. Since then it has been smooth sailing. Everything has been growing nice and there seems to be only female preflowers...well see when i flip the lights. Still waiting....for them to grow a few more inches before i introduce the netting for scrog. Happy day!

Hello hello. So it's been a month since I last posted the happenings of my lil scrog. The plants have been filling out very nice and I had them in veg for a total of 2 months before the flip. I would have switched them sooner but they were showing signs of a nitrogen deficiency (or so I believe). I wanted to resolve that before I started choking off their nitrogen in flower. Hopefully the scrog net is not too full. Here are some pictures of last month's progress up until 2 days into flower. I am leaving the mh bulb in for at least the first week of flower. Any opinions on this? I have read that it prevents too much stretch and keeps the buds more dense? We will find out :) a grand learning experience indeed. happy growing!!

If you tuck those tops under the net it will open up the lower bud sites to light and give you more tops.
You can keep tucking them until the stems get woody and will no longer bend.

I left the mh in for the first week of 12/12 and then switched to the hps bulb. Everything seems to be going well but it's difficult to tell the true color of the leaves. It's very exciting seeing the buds developing:) the pics are up to 14 days 12/12. I hope all is well throughout flowering! Peacepeace

Not sure if it's coincidence or not, but my eyesight went south when I started growing indoors, but that was also in my early 20s. Wish I would have worn sun glasses in there.

Plants looking nice!!!
