3-Stage Portable Aquarium-Countertop Reverse Osmosis Water Filter System-100GPD
So I took a chance and ordered this RO system from Amazon. I have been dealing with extremely hard well water for years, and only recently decided my current crop NEEDS cleaner water.
So what did I get for 60 bucks? Blown away. Of all the reviews I read on it on Amazon, this thing performs great. There was 1 or 2 bad reviews from lunkheads who couldn't figure out how to set it up. Personally, I think anyone with opposable thumbs, the reading comprehension of a kindergarten student, and half a brain could figure this out and have it set up in less than 30 minutes. Maybe that's why people think I'm an asshole. I don't know.
But anyway, I had this set up in all of 10 minutes.

Our well water is SO bad it literally runs orange from clay deposits sometimes. Extremely high levels of calcium and magnesium have been throttling my plants like no tomorrow.

Ok, so I just bought this and have only had it up and running for 2 days. Still, for the price, I think this is wonderful. The replacement filters are only 37 dollars for the set. Says filters should last 6 months to a year, depending on starting water. It also says it is meant to handle water up to 1000 ppm input. So being that mine is 650, if these filters last longer than 4 months I'll be very happy!
The price is what blows me away. This is a simple unit, easy to set up, replacement filters are cheap. I will update with a report when I have to change my filters, but so far works exactly as advertised.
It's a *little* slow, but I'm chalking that up to my highly contaminated water. However, it fills a 5 gallon jug in about 2 hours, which is fine for me as I only need to produce about 30 gallons a day of clean water, tops.
I am mostly excited that someone has FINALLY come up with a suitable RO system with an affordable price tag. This is going to change the market, big time. Finally, poor people can afford clean water. Now the big companies will have no choice but to drop the ridiculous price on their systems.
I never thought I would be able to find a good RO system for UNDER 100 bucks, but this is it, folks!!!
