Best timer box??

I am in need of a new timer box and I am not sure which to get.. These are the two I am looking at.

I am leaning more towards the one from growlightexpress, but I am not well educated in timer boxes so if you guys know of something better let me know! Thanks!

Hello fellow farmer....do ya havethe panel allready? If no ..I would then go with the second one as i offers me more the timers are the same from what i can see but the first only comes with 110...and no price...Anywhoo...sometimes takes a few form farmers to post up..specially new farmers..be pactient my friend..take care and be safe

I'd go with the plain old 30 amp timer box. It's simple, if something breaks you could probably find a replacement part at the hardware store, but more than anything I like having an external timer... If one things going to break, my guess, is it's going to be the timer. I'm rocking two of the solatel with the trigger wire. I've had no problems. on the other hand I've always had good service with bghydro.

You're better off with a timerbox that has individual breaker protection. The Powerbox units are all wired to one 2-pole breaker, is not a good idea with 10 to 15 devices all wired to one 60A breaker.

forgot that powerbox if you can afford, get an olyver... the pics of his work are top notch

You want one with circuit protection, its really the main item to consider. You have a 30/40/60A circuit that you are breaking down into smaller 20A circuits and the wires are protected all the way down if you get one with 20A circuit breakers for each circuit.

This is the new trend in california, make sure everything passes international building code and you are golden.

Hi guyz, i,m hoping sum one can give me a bit of advice. I,m presently waiting for electrician to rewire house, (it shot) when done i want to run a 600w hps. Question is, if i build a cupboard 4x4x5/6" (5foot 6in) tall, would that be ok. I thought maybe 6 pots 7ins across & 8ins deep with rockwool any answers. cheers heaps.

If you're running 8 to 10 ballasts, or even more, don't put all your ballasts and other equipment off one double pole 50A or 60A breaker. There is NO WAY CSA or UL would approve this design. Individual breaker protection is the safest way. If you have to group ballasts per breaker, use 4 x 1000W ballasts wired for 240V off a 30A 2-pole breaker, 20A 2-pole breaker would be too small, and violates the 80% rule. Would you power 10 ballasts, 2 fans, 1 pump, 1 AC unit, and 1 co2 burner on one 60A 2-pole breaker, not a good idea...... IMHO.

This loadcenter has individual 15A breakers for 4 x 15A circuits and the 8 outlets for ballasts are wired for 4 ballasts per 2-pole 240V breaker.

I have a problem. Smells like electricty and plastic burning. Check things and once again a timer fried.

Timer that fried.....on top of a powerbox ad.

Is a Powerbox the the best for or a small set-up with 2900 watts total for both flowering and veg combined. I do plan to add 1200 more watts and a 12,000 BTU ac unit. That would be my max. Looks like a built one is better. I Have run a ton of wires before but never messed with the box. Plan to go looking at Homie D to see what boxes they have and how hard it looks to build one. I have pretty good skills but just wanna be sure I get the best option. I had a 100 amp sub-panel added. It has 2 20 amp breakers being used leaving 60 amps. I was thinking a 50amp breaker could replace the two 20's and run power to the room. From there??

One thing is for sure. Tomorrow is gonna be expensive. Everything that isn't new or like new is getting tossed. I am canning the 1000w I have because it's very old and is a hot starting, hot cord runnin, out dated....and frying timers.

The only fire I want is the one in my firepit!!
