Tell me if you think this is a good idea.
My son and I played 40k for almost 20 years. I have tons of models and terrain and what not.
I have been kicking around a way to give back to the TT gaming community.
I would love to hold a 3 day appoc game using all my models and as my units are killed off giving them to newbies watching the game. The super heavies will be given out to those defending the attack to get some interest in the huge game. Also appoc formations as I can send 24 Russ patterns and the shock attack appoc battery is a hoot when it hits on a 5 or 6. In Dayton I hit a warlord titan and the rules were a 24 inch pie plate removed from play when he rolled a 1 on reactor explosion.
Yes 40k was good times.

Awesome that you got your son into wh!
If you can keep them invested for 3 days, yes :p it's a nice way to get newbies into the game and at least your units will be handled with respect. The price nowadays is insane, even taking into account the price of forgeworld models back in the day.

My circle of buds spent days painting, drinking and smoking trying to paint wooden necrons, pink boyz or santa marines. We never had the patience for the actual TT part.
We use mtg to beat each other up. Real test of friendship right there.

Little update. Been on cruise control for the last few days, love the autopot. Been testing how long I can go without having to clean and it's been about 2 weeks now with one refill, no problems or smell. Refilled once and have been lowering Ph back to normal every few days. Added a magnet as a 'time to refill' marker. Family will take over mid flower for a month while im gone so I have high hopes of it working out this way.

Flipped her and started counting flower since 18/10. Put the lights higher, added a 30W and she popped off.

Also topped the 4th back to the 3rd. They're in their clone corner now.

Since flip she's been reaching for the sky. No sign of preflowers yet. Some of the oldest leaves are slowly crisping up deep brown and dying off. Might be salts in the coco so I'll be using RO water every so often in the tray for 1-2 fills before turning on the valve again.
Also did a quick clean for the res (wash&wipe), took out 5L of current water and set it apart. Put the meters in, Phed it back to 5.8 and put it back in the res. Made a new batch of 5L and added it to the old. Entire res is now at 2.7EC, 5.8Ph. No smell, no bloom, no issues (:

Been hard to keep Rh in check with this setup especially at night so I've added a second fan straight under the canopy on low. Rh is now around 55-60 consistently. After i'm done trimming my harvest I can add the inline. Before midflower she'll get popped to control Rh.

Day 51. 12 days since counting flower. She went from 6.5inch at flip to 18inch in less than 2 weeks. I might run into some space issues. If she does outgrow the tent I'll be pulling out the big tent, but the entire goal is not having to do that.
My lamp setup is the last to upgrade, but i want to have a clear idea before spending insane money on it. This little combo is still doing what it should for now.

Installed the inline, no more Rh issues. Temp is relatively stable. 71F at the bottom, 75F at the top.

Instead of preflowers I've been getting more sides? Ive been reading its either genetic but could also indicate potential herm.

Had the odd fly in the tent so i put down a sticky pad for the strays. Day later it seems I have a gnat problem. Havent seen them around but there's a bunch spawning on the pad. Going to get some diatom earth and a bag of perlite, lay down a layer of powder and then fill it up with an inch or so of perlite. Should fix it.
One of the dying bottom leaves also had a few spider mites starting caus why not right. Cleaned them and the leaves out thoroughly but will still get some predatory mites as a precaution. Aint dealing with those fkers again. Going to bomb the tent.

Besides all that, some Ph issues with it creeping up to 6.7 over a few days, higher than usual. Some leave tips going yellow but nothing to worry.

She's been stretching way too much. Probably a light thing as you can also see, depending on the light, she's taller on one side than the other. Combined with her feed I think she just needed more light. Lesson learned. Think the 120W thing just isnt bright enough in flower so out with the big, in with the smaller heavy duty ones. This pic is from before the switch in light but I got 2x 30W panels in there now to see what she does in the upcoming days. Dont think a third is necessary.

About 30inches by now. Crowns are setting so stretch should stop soon but she might be too tall by the end of it. Been starting her defo in small steps and might do a last one. Flower development looks fine tho.

Tried training but she's way too sturdy to be bend. Not risking that one.

Guess there's worse problems to have, but she never stopped stretching. Hugging the lamps.
Forced to pull her out and get her into the big tent so the upcoming day will be spent fighting limited space and moving shit that should not be moved. Wasted effort trimming bottom leaves as well.
We're at day 25 of flower and this 'indica dominant' strain stretched about triple her size and still wont stop. I'm kinda proud but at the same time kinda pissed.

I'll be keeping this little setup for the next run, doing the same thing except tuning down the feed.

And we're back. Give her some time to adapt, see what needs adjusting. Just looks beat up from being in such a small space. Added another lamp. Going to add another fan as well.

Hope the nuke I dropped on the spidermites from last grow did it's job. The yellow sticky is in addition to a blast of nematodes.

She's adjusted very nicely. She looks happy so I'm happy. Now to teach the fam how to mix nutes, adjust Ph and know when a leaf has to go. They are anti-drug oldtimers and I think getting them to care for her is an achievement in and of itself.

I'll be filling the res for a total of 30L (5L old "tempered" water, 25L fresh mix). She drinks 4L in 5days so 24L should be just enough, with the extra up to 30L as a buffer. This way the fam only has to adjust Ph every 3 days or so and the chances of nute fuckups will be minimal. I'm already predicting salt buildup in the res pulling EC up so I'll have to think of something. Maybe just let them add plain phed water when EC spikes.

Filled the res up, turned into 35L instead of 30. Added PK1314 at a 1ml:1L ratio alongside the calmag and base. EC shot up to 3.5. Got it back to 3.2, hoping it stays that way. Will let the fam add phed water over time to lower ec towards the last weeks before harvest.

Gonna ask for pics in between but dont hold me to it. See yall in a few weeks (: time for some sun.

Day 45 of flower. Total day 84 since germ.

Got a new update. Cola in the back is looking tasty like icecream. Ph dropped to 2.57 so that's being corrected by the fam now. Also got the mention it's starting to stink up the room (: I'm back tomorrow so I can take over again. Gotta check the waves turning up around the middle leaves.

Lmk what you think of the biscotti, I will be doing a run of some here soon, it's not from rqs, but another breeder that deals with rqs but his version.
