Bison Breath
Greenpoint Seeds
Start Date: 10/19/2019

Tent: 20”x20”x48”
Light: Mars TS1000
Soil: Fox Farm Ocean Forest
Pot Size: SOLO Cups to 3 Gallon Fabric Pots
Ventilation: 4” Exhaust Fan with Carbon Filter - 6” Desk Fan

Plan:

10/19/2019 - Placed 2 seeds into a small glass of water

10/20/2019 - Both seeds sank in 12 hours, poured water onto a paper towel along with seeds then folded and put in Ziplock bag

10/21/2019 - (Morning) One seed has a tap root and the other seed is cracked with tap root starting

10/21/2019 - (Evening) Both seeds have tap roots and have been planted in a SOLO Cup filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest and placed in the tent.

10/22/2019 - Today I installed the Mars Hydro TS1000. The light is extremely bright and is currently running at about 75% power 24” from the top of the cups. The temperature is currently 81F and the RH is 35%. I placed Ziplock bags over the cups to add humidity for the seedlings when they emerge. If heat becomes an issue the driver can be removed and placed outside of the tent.

10/23/2019 - Both plants have sprouted. They both received water and the Ziplock bags were placed back on top of the cups. Temperature is 80F and RH is 40%. The light was raised slightly and will be adjusted as needed.

10/24/2019: Both plants are showing their first true leaves and seem to be quick growers, extremely healthy. I lowered the light a few inches and will see how the plants react. Temperature is currently 81F and RH is 40%. Ziplock bags are still over each cup and will start removing them for longer periods of time each day until they are no longer needed.

10/25/2019: Leaves are getting a little larger and the plants seem to be stretching a bit, so I have lowered the light to 22”. Temperature is still 81F and RH is 40%. Ziplock bags have been removed and will see how plants react.

10/26/2019: Leaves are continuing to show great growth and color. Ziplock bags have been off for 24 hours with no adverse signs. Light is still at 22” Temperature is 81F and RH is 39%. I let the soil dry a bit to ensure there was no overwatering and gave them both some this morning.

10/27/2019: Environment is the same. New leaves are developing, and vertical stretching has slowed/stopped.

10/28/2019: Temperature ranges from 79-82. Humidity seems to stay around 40%. New leaves are developing nicely, the plants both appear to be in excellent health.

10/29/2019: Environment is stable. New leaves continue to develop and grow.

10/30/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is still around 40%. Both plants are growing quickly and appear extremely healthy.

10/31/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 40%. One plant is showing some spots on the tips of the first leaves. I raised the light a bit and am trying to research the issue.

11/01/2019: I turned the light up to 100% which created some extra heat in the tent. I removed the driver from the light and placed it outside of the tent to help lower the temperature. Removing the driver also will allow me raise the light almost to the top of the tent which will provide me with at least 12” between the light and the tops of the flowers, because every inch make such a drastic difference in light intensity this should allow me to have much more control towards the end of flower. The bottom leaves are showing signs that the plants are adjusting to the soil. Roots are starting to poke out of the bottom of the cup so I will be transplanting to the 3 gallon fabric pots soon.

11/02/2019: The new growth on both plants looks really good however the bottom leaves are turning yellow/crispy. I am going to let the soil dry completely then transplant to the 3 gallon pots. I will also be picking up some perlite to add to the FFOF prior to transplanting.

11/03/2019: Both plants were looking sad so I mixed 30% perlite with FFOF and transplanted into 3 gallon pots. The plants did not appear root bound but the roots were circling the cup. I also placed a humidifier near the tent to boost the humidity. Finally the light was raised to accommodate the new pot size and the intensity was lowered to about 75%.

11/04/2019: Temperature is 76 and the RH is 40%. Both plants appear to be bouncing back. The new growth is a nice color and is no longer droopy.

11/05/2019: Temperature is at 81 and RH is 35%. I mixed in 2ML of CalMag with a gallon of water and fed both plants. The does is 25% of recommended strength to ensure no burning. Both plants appear to be healthier, the first leaves are pretty much dead on both plants and there is a little damage on the tips of 2 leaves but all of the new growth is coming in strong.

11/06/2019: (2 Weeks Old) I removed the first set of leaves which were yellow/crispy on both plants. Both plants are looking better and better while adjusting to their environments. Temperature is 80 and RH is 36%.

11/07/2019: Temperature is stable at 81 and RH is 40%. Both plants are continuing strong growth. The yellow/spotting on the tips of bottom leaves has not spread.

11/08/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 40%. Still watering with cal-mag at 1/4th strength. Both plants are starting to grow at an increased rate.

11/09/2019: Temperature range is 70-81 and RH is 30-40%. Plants are starting to explode with growth. Current plan is to start feeding at 25% strength starting Wednesday when plants are 3 weeks old. I also hope to be able to top at 3 weeks so that they are recovered for the flip to flower at week 4.

11/10/2019: Temperature is 76 and RH is 37%. More impressive growth. Topping by Wednesday should not be an issue.

11/11/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 35%. Both plants seem to be settling in and growing nicely.

11/11/2019: Topped both plants.

11/12/2019: Both plants are recovering well from topping - no signs of anything wrong.

11/13/2019: (3 Weeks Old) Temperature is 81 however humidity dropped to 23%. Humidifier is running with little effect, turned fan off to try to build it up. Everything else looks pretty good, plants are recovering nicely from topping. I did notice some slight discoloration appearing so I fed with 2tsp of Big Bloom, .5 tsp of Grow Big, .5 tsp of Cal-Mag +. All doses are 1/3 to 1/4th of the recommended feeding. Will monitor and feed more or back off as needed.

11/14/2019: Temperature is still 81 and humidity is 30%. The plant on the right has a lot of growth coming up from the bottom. The plant on the left seems to be taking longer to bounce back from topping.

11/15/2019: Temperature is 81, by using a wet towel in the ten I got the humidity to at 40% which may not be ideal but is much better then the 20-25% it was without. Overall both plants seem very healthy with a lot of new undergrowth reaching up.

11/16/2019: Temperature 81 and RH is 40%. Overall the plants look great. The yellowing does not seem to be spreading, will feed with just water for next week or so. I raised the light up 1-2” to try to promote some vertical growth. The plant on the right is much bushier then the plant on the left. If I had to guess gender I would say the one on the right is female.

11/17/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 35%. Both plants are still doing really well. The plant on the right is showing a lot of tops. Hopefully it is a Female.

11/18/2019: Temperature is 82 and RH is currently 20% because the towel dries out so quickly. Adding water to the towel 5x or more a day is the only way I am able to keep the humidity higher. I watered both plants after lights on and took the bottom leaves off that were very close to the ground.

11/19/2019: Both plants are looking better and better.

11/20/2019: (4 Weeks Old) Temperature is 81 and RH is 30%. Due to height limitations, the flip to flower is tomorrow.

11/21/2019: First time with 12 hours of lights off. I watered both with 6.5 PHd water. I believe both plants may in fact be female which poses an issue of what to do with the second plant.

11/22/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 33%. Everything is really starting to come together. Ensure the correct PH is making a world of difference.

11/23/2019: Temperature is 81 and RH is 30%. Both plants are entering the flowering stage and are growing at a very good rate.

11/24/2019: Temperature is 79 and RH is 30%. Turning the exhaust fan off during lights out boosts humidity a lot however as soon as the fan is back on it drops back to around 30%. Both plants were pretty thirsty, may need to switch to every 2 days. I am fairly certain that both plants are in fact female.

11/25/2019: Temperature is 79 and RH is 40%. Both plants have spruced back up after last nights watering.

Sorry bro. You were rocking along. Next time put a fan speed controler on your intake or exhaust fan. ( that way you can slow down fan and increase humidity as long as this doesnt put you over your temp set point high...
Looking forward to next one... keep rocking....

Thank you! I will definitely be looking into a controller. Just ripped them out and died a little inside but started to germinate a Fruity Chronic Juice Fem Seed. If I had any patience I would have waited until my Gorilla Punch seeds get here but patience is not one of my strong suits. I really want to try some more Bison Breath seeds but with such a small grow area it is just too big of a risk. I really need to get another small tent or set something up that can house a few plants in veg for a month or so and if they are male it won't throw off my whole schedule.
