I had to turn my lights out even that’s not even helping it’s way to hot

One option is have my light dim down to the lowest but it’s that wouldn’t be Beneficial atm

The other I’m more pursuing is to give in & buy a air conditioner even if it takes up the space of a plant or two they would be a lot happier & so would I tbh.

I just don’t know what I’m looking at

Recommendations my tent is 8ft*4ft

This is Amazon uk were I’m looking air-conditioning unit portable

What’s BTU stand for
I don’t care about price to a point
Corided electric is my preference

An 8000 BTU ( 250 to 500 square feet room) unit will cool a 10 by 10 bedroom in Florida summer to 74 to 76 degrees. That little 7000 portable unit for 219 would be great for a small grow area to cool off. Those style usually have nice exhaust vent tubes ( window kit) so you can run ( the heated exhaust ) like a dryer vent outside . Had one similar for my mom when her HVAC died.

This is what the exhaust window kit usually looks like it comes with that unit that I had was included .

I had one like this 14000 is pretty big https://a.co/d/j1rkNlM it cooled the den really well was a 10 x 20 room.

A window unit would be more efficient than a portable and probably cheaper.

You mentioned you have an 8 x 4 grow tent. Is it in a lung room? If so then the window unit would be my choice for the lung room. One con to a window unit would be that smell will get out so if you are near neighbors then a mini split would be better.

Your other option would be to look at some of the newer tent a/c's. ACI has a complete environmental unit to control everything in the tent. I would also look to some of the tent A/C's they use for camping but ACI's unit is specific to the needs of growers so that would be my first choice.

Cheaper than the Bosch unit at double the cooling power.

BTU is British thermal units! Aren’t you ashamed! Lol! Kind of a measurement of the cooling power of the unit! Don’t overlook the inverter, portable air conditioners! Regular portables are about five or six seer! Inverters are around 14! That makes a hell of a difference on your electric bill! But they do cost more to begin with! And they are quieter with more bells and whistles usually! I bought an inverter for my window AC a few years ago and I wouldn’t go back! Do your research! Hang in there Gmix! Regular portable air conditioners are notoriously inefficient when it comes to sucking down electricity! Worse than window, air conditioners!

Ok thank you I get the gist

At @Oldchucky lol you think we learned that at school I swear you guys get taught better especially in today’s age of Mary & her little lambs cock size story time

Ok here’s one for you I cannot figure out maths well I had a fight with the maths teacher, long story I was right & the school admitted it but I still had to sit in hallway during maths so maths ain’t my strong point

My tent is were it’s going there’s no room in the room because of other tents my tents 8ft x 4ft how much is that squared

^^^^ latter is at anyone who can help

And for anyone wondering I have my lights off during the day and am battling a heatwave witch are becoming too frequent to ignore

8 x 4 is 32 square feet. Remember, you have to exhaust out a window! Pretty much any air conditioner should handle that! The tricky part is kind of, how often they start and stop to maintain a certain temp! In a small space that can be pretty often! Will let others with more experience, chime in! You know, the AC will cool the tent down and then shut off, and then the light will warm the tent up and trigger the AC to come back on! Over and over and over! And ACs dry the air out to a certain extent!

Just hot air! But it’s hot! It will warm your pad up in a hurry! I’ve never noticed a smell.

And a few other things to consider that I’m not sure about! Are you gonna put the air conditioner in the tent and use its thermostat to turn on and off? Or are you plugging it into an external controller with it thermostat that tells it to turn on and off! I think that can create conflicts! Oh well, I’ll let you figure it out! This kind of shit gives me a headache! Lol! There’s plenty of people on here that use air conditioners!

One of the pluses of using a controller is you can ramp up your trigger points meaning you can have your A/C ramp up rather than just brute force turn on which is what really drives electricity charges up. That's why inverters are awesome in terms of both electricity usage and equipment life.
