Boss's light test. LEDvsHIDvs Maybe Bad boy.

Bossman, do those badboys have a 'piggy back' perse? like can i plug one badboy into another? like a daisy chain? i know the sunleaves have that option, but not sure about the badboy

looks good bossman! Just read through all 7 pages, How is the led running heat wise?

The LED has damn near no heat. I was actually concerned that since the LED runs so cool. That the Bad boys heat may hurt the LED.

Nice bossman, i predict the t5 is going to kill it....ill be here for round two

^^^^7 Pages? you have your settings on nooob, lol....you can change it at the control panel how many post per page...its only two pages on mine...

It would have to do pretty damn great to make up for the heat. It has the Foot candles but lets see how much of them the girls use.

Me too bro, I just changed it.

Awesome news Bossman! So far I like the LED panels as well, but will hold judgement until harvest... It would be really cool to have a cab with LED's along the 4 walls and ceiling. :thinking

hahaa... :giggle I'm still on newb setting, viewing Page 7 on my iPhone and laptop...

I am really wanting to get it started.

I will take a look at it when the lights come on. I do not recall seeing one though.

I think I have it handled.
It was not my AC being dead. It was just to small for all the lights and heat.
I am planning to tear down this Veg room and rebuild it soon. It has been moved and modified too many times now. Plus I want a larger Veg room.
So I Turned off my 1000 watt HID in the veg.
And temps have been perfect since. I will give it one more day to monitor it before I start.
So if all goes well we should be back up and testing tomorrow.

I was rereading this thread And realized I never posted the results of the Foot candles at 6 and 12 inches like Ledgirl asked.
At 12 inches it was 1700 Fc witch is pretty close to the 1600 at 2 feet.
At 6 inches it was 2200.F
Damn I really did not expect it to be more then 1900Fc.
But again anyone that say's these are not bright. I would have to say again.
They are blinding to look directly at

So temps are back and 100% in my control.
The cabinet has had some modification's.
The girls that I started off with have just started to bounce back. The strange thing is though the plant looked sad.
The roots were growing their arses off. So I will let them go and see how they do.
But unless they just take off and pass up there back ups they will not be the girls I flower.

The group shot shows the extras I had taken.
When temp problems started I moved them to safety.
So they will be our runners.

Pics 1,2,3 are the HID (first set)

Pics 4,5,6 are the Led(first set)

Pics 7,8,9 are the Bad boy.(first set)

Then some group shots.

LB they do not have the piggy back plug.
My bad on the lag.:damnhippie:

I forgot to mention in the last post.
I have decided to use the Fc meter to help and balance out the extra output the Bad boy is giving off.
I will use the light meter to keep the girls all in the same Fc range.

Are you keeping light proximity for both lights the same?

I am keeping the Led girls 8 inches.
And the HID the same.
For the Bad boy. I will keep a few sets under it since it covers so much space.
But for a fair comparisin against the Led and the 400. I will keep the main set at the proper distance for equal Fc.

glad i caught this; good luck with the second run

fwiw i'm using a 6" and 4" vortex to cool a 400w hid in a 2x2 dr80... little extra heat is an understatement

4" axial fan for the led in its own dr80 just to move around some air; its really not needed

Looking good Bossman! Just curious if you are feeding the same PPM's to all the LED plants as the others... If so what are the total PPM's? :wondering

I am using FF soil.
And do no feeding in Veg.
The soil has enough in it for the whole Veg cycle.

Looking great man, sorry about the troubles. I've been keeping my light about 8 inches away. It is brighter than I thought. Hard to tell if the plants are healthy since it makes the veins look red and new growth looks yellow. Had to look at them under a floro to check!

Hope it all works out now that the heat issue is resolved. Are we scrogging because the LED"s don't penetrate?

So good thing I had the back ups.
The original's were not bouncing back quick enough.
So in came the ringers and here are the pics.
I will be trans planting within a weak. Just want to let them root a bit more. I will post root pics during transplant.
I peaked at the GDP root's and the Led has the thickest and most feeder's at this point.

Pic 1,2 HID's left GDP. right MK

Pic 3,4 Led's left GDP. right MK.

Pic 5,6 Bad boys left GDP. Right MK.
