I've got this GG4 just turned two weeks into "bloom" ( I don't understand bloom vs flower. 2 weeks after flipping to 12/12)

She was sitting about 14-16 inches away from the medic grow smart 8 at 60% in a 4x4, but since I've noticed more than enough orange "burnt" looking pistils I lowered her to about 26 inches away. I use Photone to check PPFD but I don't get numbers that match the manufacturer website. (Recommendations on PAR meters?)
I also have a Super Silver Haze right around 12 inches away with 0 orange/burnt pistils.

Is this a light burn of sorts? Nurltrients? I'll have to take a different picture of the whole plant tomorrow, she's sleeping now and the one I took today is too big to upload

Newer grower. I’ve learned that different strains have different traits. I grew out a NASC White Label that went red really early. Had me worried. Turned out to be really good smoke

A few of the posts here suggest it's an over feeding/nutrient issue. I'll keep them to a minimum for the rest of the grow.

Do you have any fans blowing directly on that plant?

Not even close, the clip fan is on 5/10 (ac infinity) and the floor fan is on 2/5 (amazon orbital spin fan)

Ah, the way they seem to mostly be on one side, I thought possibly wind burn. If it's not simply genetics, I got nothin'!

Is it photo or auto? Bloom just means it's in flower.

To me it just looks like genetics or the pistils naturally changing. I've had some that go auburn early. I think as long as it's not getting worse, I wouldn't worry about it.

It's a photo, I believe it to be nutrient related since I'm admittedly lazy and haven't been following the charts. Just a schedule of one week give nutrients, next week no nutrients. Also in a mix of something like 70% coco (in a 70/30 blend from Royal Gold) and 30% FoxFarm Happy Frog

Took her away from the light a bit, last week was all ph water "flush" and will probably just ph water for for the rest of the grow. Maybe one more very very light nutrient feed at week 5 or so

Did you come in contact with them at any point? If you touch them they’ll turn red from the oils on your skin.

That makes a LOT of sense. I don't wear gloves as often as I should....
New rule, always wear gloves during flower!

I try to handle my plants as little as possible but if you’re a hands on type of dude that can happen.

I'm still learning my process. Definitely going to be more delicate with them (less hands on) during flower.

All great advice so far but if it's a GG4 I would also be checking every branch from the bottom up for any male flowers. The glue will herm if you breathe on it the wrong way sometimes.

Its unlikely this early in flower but worth ruling out just for peace of mind and the earlier you catch it the better.

God to know, I'll make sure to keep an eye out. GG4 was super sticky and had a flavor I really liked the last batch so hopefully I won't have to toss this one.

Even if it's full of seeds why would you toss it after spending all that time and effort on it????

Wtf...I guess you're too young to remember what it was like before "sinsimillia"

Seeds are not poison. They're an an inconvenience at worst and the sole reason this miracle plant has existed for 28 million years.

28 million fucking years ... only cultivated for the last 12 thousand!

To put that in perspective, let's boil down the history of cannabis to one day on earth. If the first seed sprouted at midnight, humans starting cultivating it at 11:58 pm that day.

this is one of my trademark rambles. Nothing to add that hasnt been said.

as for gg4 going herman on us, thats only because there was only one original gg4 and it was an s1 clone only cut propagated through commercial growers first as far as i know. A clone wasnt kept of the plant in the original hunts because it was a bit of a lanky, creeper-esque dep structure wise. After the cuts they lucked out and found a single s1 in the plant, and as luck would have it, it was even danker then the missed original pheno, or something. This was what i was told from a commercial breeder friend back in KC.

Theres only limited ways to get something like a one-off s into a stable fem seed consistent with the original pheno, and it involves a bit of repetition and unavoidable recessive trait stacking lol.

That original clone only gg4, there has probably been metric tons of that stuff grown without a single banana or male flower seen, nor any genetic drift. That clone was a damn near miracle as far as that goes, and plenty are still growing that original clone too.

im not trying to go "whoo ha! youre wrong!" or anything i swear, i just played with that clone for a while, brought it back from work in KC. It was the beginning of my best outdoor lineage. I grew that clone for like 4 years and didnt see a single herm.

Shit i even went through that whole "new girlfriend" phase where all your flowering plants basically whither into a state of partial life, partial zombification from neglect, it still never hermied.

Really i just think its funny, that the single most hermie-resistant clone ive ever grown, resulted in some of the most hermie-prone stable fem seed stocks around Could quite literally clone a clone a clone over and over again too, and yields and flower structure would stay the same. Lanky and weird lmao. that first gg4 commercial cut, was almost a miracle plant imho. If you made an s2 with it, ever single seed would hermie though.

That might be another strain g13 or someone claims to have bred years before it ever even showed up on any forum posts or the wayback machine too though too, who knows lol. Shit, did i say that? M'bad. i blame the high life.
