I was doing my 3-5 times a day Japanese Beetle patrol and saw one stuck upside down in the curled leaf of one of the Canna Lillies. AND it was dead! I think it got stuck! LOL
Our own beetle eating pitcher plant. LOL

Many creatures in the soil that i'm recycling with manure, compost, algae, guano and worms.

Also met a mammoth wasp in the soil that was probably laying eggs in these grubs.

And some more...

Those grubs look like Japanese beetle grubs…I get those too and feed em to the birds whenever I find em.

I've never seen Japanese beetles here (i'm in Spain) even though they have been seen around here and the rest of Europe.
Another invasive species that could be very destructive.

Plenty of other beetles around but none that cause any trouble so i just put the grubs in a separate pot with old soil and some manure or leaves so that they can transform into their next stage of life.

Same for the grashopper on the other pic, hasnt done any damage so it can stay.

I do kill the chinches (stinkbugs) that are relentless in their attacks on my tomatoes, and caterpillars from moths that try to eat my buds.

What's that like?

Pain. I sprayed neem yesterday morning so this one is probably not eating which is how it effects them once they eat any sprayed plant parts. I'll be spraying Jack's Dead Bug tomorrow morning to be sure. I've got 6 large plants outside in various stages of flowering from 1 week to 7+ weeks and I don't wanna share

Good luck !
I'm gonna start BT treatment soon, and then daily checking of the bud sites.
Seems those caterpillars prefer cannabis above any other plant i have in my garden.

Saw something under a leaf

A cicade has crawled out of the soil onto the plant to leave its exoskeleton behind.

And another exoskeleton, this time on the Punto Rojo.

Many cicades this year, also very hot summer, 3rd heatwave just started, gonna be up to about 40°C / 104°F

Chinche asesino, an invasive species.
Incredible hunter, tries to catch its prey while its still flying, doesnt even wait for them to land.

That spider on the bottom is also very skilled, the bee next to it was the latest victim. I like spiders but feel bad for the bees.

Found this guy on the driveway this morning. Black rat snakes are always welcome on my property. I'll also post a video of a copperhead i escorted off the driveway last summer for anyone who missed it. I'm one of those weird people who love snakes.
