Probably bud rot. Check for caterpillars. They are a nemesis this time of year. They'll lay eggs and the larvae then wreck havoc to the buds. I'm gonna try these out and see if they can help. I'm here in the Coachella Valley.

It sounds like bud rot. Grab ahold of a leaf that is in the drying brown spot and pull. If it comes out easily and pulls a chunk of the bud, its likely bud rot. It's that time of year where plants are dealing with a nightly drop into the dew point in more northern areas. Cut off the infected buds. Then start drying your plants off every morning (if possible) using a battery operated leaf blower. Otherwise, you'll lose a percent of your crop to bud rot.

I'm in Michigan. In my area, its been in the 60's daytime temperature lately. SoCal is certainly a different climate. @Week4Bytch has also given you solid advice.

It's not a good idea to spray any liquid on a flowering cannabis plant. A better approach is proactively using a product like Southern Ag's Garden Friendly Fungicide during veg. It's actually a biocide meaning you're culturing a live defense against insects and fungus during veg. When done right, the beneficial bug colonies help ward off these issues during flowering.

Edit: BT sounds like the bacillus that is in the product I suggested

I've experienced this with my brother n laws grow and we were lucky to be close enough to harvest to save most of the flower. But .. with my own grows inside ... I've lost some really nice donkey dick buds to bud rot .... We have a dehumidifier now ..fuck it.

But outdoors ... It's tricky. Like that leaf blower idea.

My wife has a black light flashlight that she uses to find cat pee. (I know. Yuck! But it works.) That might work well for this, too.

I’m in so cal too man and I’m a fucking caterpillar expert…they can definitely lead to bud rot, but more likely is that they’re getting bigger and chewing right threw the bud stem severing the bud and it just dries in place.

BT works amazingly well, I spray throughout flower and have zero problems with caterpillars….only problem is if you start now, they will likely die inside your buds, that and their shit is where the rot comes in.

Next year use some netting or spray BT once a week when flowers start.

Thanks boss, def I will get netting and will start spraying BT early on. This is my first year growing this type of plant, I will be better prepared next year. I will just keep checking and picking them off

Ya man, that’s about all you can do…I went through it my first year, my 2nd year I used mosquito netting, worked well, and I may do it again, but I’ve use BT for at least ten outdoor runs and I swear by it.

If I am not mistaken, then the black light is outside of the photosynthetic active range, so it should not disturb the plants night cycle at all.

Spraying and oily substance like neem may leave an unwanted flavour and taste to your flower.

Maybe if you spray up until harvest. Most don't do that that know how to grow. Mine are going on 4th week of flower an i keep spraying until 2wks from harvest now. I need all i can get from outdoor cause i won't begin indoor grows till after holidays. I so far have seen zero moth damage. But i'm also realistic about outdoor growing.
