Can anyone identify these? They’re only in the soil, not on the plant. The plant is ripening and could probably be chopped if necessary.

Please let me know if you know what these are, I have no experience with bugs at all.

I’m in organic soil. Roots Lush with Gaia Green amendments.

Thank you!

From what I've read, most soil mites are not harmful to plants. Most eat organic matter and fungus, poop it out and help break it down. Others are predators on other soil organisms -- like fungus gnat larvae.

I wouldn't freak out, but if you can't stand to have them there, a little peroxide would work wonders.

This is what I suspected, but I have no experience with them. I’m new to organic and growing in general.

Thanks for the link, I’ll check it out.

BTW, be careful adding nutrients to Roots Lush too soon. It seems to have a decent amount of nutrients, especially N.

You’re right about that. I’ve used it a few times. Great stuff imo

It's one of my favorite pre-mixed soils. They were bought out by one of the big companies that is trying to get into nutrients (Sunmaster or something like that). Hopefully they don't ruin it.

Actually that makes a lot of sense. I went to buy a few bags from my local hydro store and they said it doubled in price for them so they stopped ordering it. Damn.

I needed soil so I went with FFOF. It’s doing ok so far about 5 weeks into veg. I just top dressed a few days ago. I have four Missy’s Stash regs in the other tent right now. The one with the bugs is a single mac dragon in a 2x2. This will be my first time using FF. I’m gonna attempt Gaia Green and stick with dry amendments the whole way through.

FFOF doesn't seem to provide nutrients for as long a time as Lush. It seems a little more like Roots original.

That’s what I’ve read and been told so I top dressed a little earlier. They seem to be doing fine in 1g pots. My plan is to transplant into 7g pots of fresh soil for flower, assuming I’ll have some females. Then top dress shortly after. You have any experience with Gaia Green or Roots terp tea dry nutes?

Also, do you think it would be good to reuse the soil with the soil mites? Seems like I’ve got a good little ecosystem going in there. Spent 4 months creating it, seems like a waste to throw it out.

Lol, yeah I guess they’re not so bad. I’m gonna let the plant finish out. She’s got maybe a week or so left.

I've used their terp teas. They're fine, but they have calcium in them, so I have to be careful.

If you reuse your soil, I see no reason these mites should stop you, unless your plants start suffering.
