The amount of time it takes to raise soil's pH level depends on the substance used and the starting pH level, but the process usually takes one to two years.

With that quote in mind... my soil mix is acidic atm. As i waited for post of oyster and crab.
So my coots mix smells sour .
Ive mixed in my crab and oyster shell.. which are told adjust ph up in peat mixes...

But online says it takes 2 years ?? Hmm i need it now lol howlong does it take for the ph to adjust Back to an earthy smell .

Gypsum controlls the magneseium and calcium release and useage but does nothing to ph.
Oyster adjusts over time and has mg and ca.. and crab shells.ca chitin faster but still months..

I cant use a sour soil which i kniw that from experience means a ph around 4.

It takes 2-3 years to adjust the pH of a field of peat soil. A few pots is a different story.
