Yep hope I`m not on the half that falls into the ocean! There was talk of this before WW11 but it was forgotten. I`d hate to see this happen and be stuck in a conservitive Northern Cali ! But in some ways I would understand why so many people would be for a split.We just have alot different outlook on things between the North and South part of the state. I`d almost consider Washington State,Oregon,and Northern Cali splitting from the Union. We`d be better off!

Nope!! No way!!

Why is central CA in there? You all can have everthing below Bakersfield.From BF to Sac. should be Central CA.,except SF.SF to the Orgeon state line should be Nothern CA.

Im thinkin....North Ca. would be a Dem. state (because of the bay area) and south Ca. would be a Republican state.

I think that might have something to do with it

I could be completely wrong though

ETA;

Both state governments will still suck though

Its just hype. They must be up to no good. This is just your classic propaganda distraction. Really come on you think this would really happen? I highly doubt it. Bush already signed the NAU-(North American Union). This why our borderes are so laxed. The NAU is also why the Government is stealing land from people in Texas to build this super hwy that will go from mexico thru the US to Canada. Borders? what Borders?

Now you're talkin', DeRail. I've suggested over the years that perhaps it just might be in best US interests to simply annex Mexico in total. Just the vast natural resources alone could be considered reason enough.

Maybe, but honestly LA and SF pretty much carry the state in terms of votes. So, while almost the ENTIRE rest of California is rather staunchly conservative outside of the OC and SF, it's those people who would be making policy determinations for the rest of the state.

My husband told me about this the other day and we were laughing. SoCal used to have easily as much agriculture, and land dedicated to agriculture, as the rest of the state. Now? Not so much. SoCal people, if they really and truly think that their economy drives the rest of the state, haven't been paying close attention. I'll stay on the farming side of the state even if it is so fucking conservative.

If only people would learn, and remember, their history.
