Move him away from your females. Collect the pollen. Then you can use the pollen as you see fit.

All the pollen sacs will mature at different rates. If you were just able to identify the plant as male then it may still be 1-3 weeks. You can remove individual branches as they mature and collect the pollen little by little.

If you have a female that went hermaphroditic, I would encourage you to not pass on those genetics. Unless you want your future plants to do the same.

I think the genetics got passed on a few million years ago, all plants can herm we have not one example of a plant or strain without those genetics and boy do we wish we had.

You pass on the genetics when you breed plants that don't show any herms, no way round that yet unfortunately.

People make cones to collect pollen.
(Like the cone they put on dogs so they can't nibble their balls)

Someone had a good picture of the cone recently. I'll see if I can find it again.

Obviously there isn't, but if you are passing on genetics of a known herm, you are upping the odds of recessive genes and the like.

Thats good then.

When I grow a male or reverse a female with STS, I keep them in a separate grow tent.

If you can't do that, use a container, like a 2 liter bottle, to grow in. You can aggressively trim the male, as a little pollen goes a very long way. I typically grow my males in solo cups, you really do not need much at all. But you really do not want that pollen free floating around your tent or your female will be nothing but seeds.

Pick a branch on the female that you want to knock up. I usually top my females after 2 nodes, so I have 4 main branches. I then make a label, or use some colored tape, or somehow mark what branch I want to use. You can use multiple males and have multiple crosses per female as long as you are careful to keep things clean and separate. Use a grocery bag or something to cover up the flowers you don't want to make seeds.

The best time to do this is right after your plant goes into flower when there are a ton of white pistils. Each of those pistils will latch onto a pollen. In about 48 hours the pistil turns orange or brown, thats how you know it worked.

I don't get fancy, once the pollen sacs are open on my male, I use a pair of tweezers and remove a sac and then just open it (if it hasn't already) and rub it on the white filaments coming out of your flower. I generally do one sac per flower, and repeat it 3x over 3 separate events usually about 2 or 3 days apart.

Right now I have a bloodstone I have crossed with a stonedragon and an orange diesel, so I will have seeds on different branches, each from a different cross.

I'm growing outside but I moved my male to the other side of my property to keep him isolated. You seem to be pretty knowledged in breeding thank you for the information!
