I read an article a while back where a biologist (or some such) grafted a branch of cannabis onto a hops vine and it continued to grow. They're pretty closely related from what I gather.

As kind of an aside I've brewed beer in the past and uncompressed/high quality hops bears a strong resemblance to bud. It even has crystals/resin, only it's yellow instead of white.
is hops a perennial? could be useful to have a perennial rootstock for cannabis....

Nice looking hops buds. I saw those for sale in a dispensary labeled AK-47!
Yeah, the resin is sticky, too! When I buy hops, I buy it bulk (1 lb or more), and the shake at the bottom of the bag could probably be rolled into a hop-hash ball.
