i read that is possible to make cannabutter from your trim after harvest, does the trim/leaves need to be dried or do they still need to have a bit of life to them? Wanting to try this out soon.

Correct. Since you are making cannabutter from bubble Hash or dry sift there is no clorophyll to ruin flavor.I've done dry for many years now I do the Two.Bear way taste way better Les cooking time .....

I say bubble hash or Dry sift and make your butter with trichomes.

I gotta say, I would never waste kief. Have you ever had a real keif box? Slide out the drawer and pack it on top o thee weed..... I missed what ghee is?? Anyhow I'm not against anyones ways. I do know mine works great.I prefer to keep it out, which is why I use ghee instead of raw butter. Using kif instead of green plant material is another way to do so.

Clarified butter is milk fat rendered from butter to separate the milk solids and water from the butterfat. Typically, it is produced by melting butter and allowing the components to separate by density. The water evaporates, some solids float to the surface and are skimmed off, and the remainder of the milk solids sink to the bottom and are left behind when the butter fat is poured off. I can honestly say that I personally have no need to do all the extra decarb or clarify, I just do it like chef Ra. I am a carpenter, only bought one box 15 years ago, since then ive just made em myself also. I made one that was 3 feet long and two foot wide for two trimmers. I have a gifted harvest box has a drawer in it. I've built any number of dry sieve contrivances, including a harvest box. With mine you simply lift out the tray and the kif is underneath on the mirror. Dirty peeeecture attached:
