Not sure what topic on the forums to post under so put it here. I recently built a grow closet with 2 grow spaces of 2' x 2' x 4.5'. I have been flowering my first plant in the space and its growing a bit close to the LED light. I measured it today and the closest bud is 9" from the light. The light I am using is a Viparspectra xs1500 LED. Not sure how much more the plant will grow in height but realistically I can only increase the height by 2.5" if I make some modifications to how the light is mounted in the cabinet. The plant is 17 days into flower. So far the plant isn't showing any noticeable signs of stress or anything from the light distance but everything I have read seems to suggest that I will probably start to have issues. Any suggestions on preemptive actions to take, if necessary, would be appreciated. I still have my old grow space available if I have to move my plant to get more distance from the light.

do you have a par meter to check ppfd? im no expert but from what ive read plant without co2 can handle 600 - 900 ppfd. i saw your ppfd chart and at 12 inches its at 1544 ppfd. so way over. maybe dial down the light if you cant move it any further.

My old light was a vibraspectra2000, you just have to dim it down if they get too close, mine were almost touching and i couldn't raise the light anymore so i dimmed it right down and growth was still really good, just have air flow over top of canopy.

How long have they been in flower? The stretch should end by the end of week 4.

Tie it down anyway possible under the light have fan run across top of plants just under light.
Rotate plants if you can, leds bleach leaves pretty fast. So you will know.
Some leds would fry your grow at 9 inches. Some will be fine.
Big difference in LED lights. Realistically 4.5 foot head space you need to be training your plants immediately.” While you are in veg”

Sounds like your old grow space would be the easiest remedy. Another option is bending the apical stem and tying down nodes around the pot.
The plant below was trained to limit total height to 28", 5gal. pot included. In your present tent that would leave me 26" to top of tent.

Love your SIG amigo...3rd on your list is always ready to go...the cell phone will soon be getting a round blasted through it when i eventually get off grid.😉

Oh LOVED the pics...😍

Pics arent the best my camera sucks but just to give you an idea of what it looks like. I was planning on flipping this about 2 weeks sooner but had some problems with the plant I had to address first so delayed the flip.

Would just tying down the taller stems at angles be sufficient?

I see 2 quick options: tie them down and/or crop them. Either way try going in a circular motion. Looking down on your plant bend them all clockwise.

I've got a grow at 17 days as well, yours are looking really nice and healthy!

That's what I'd do. Squash the stems and bend.

I have another small scrog net would it damage anything if i just drop that on top and bend the branches down as I lower it into position?
