I think aggressive defoliation during cola formation increases node density

I've done both, only found the trimming to be affected, except for where added airflow was needed

Do you mean when the flowering process is already in progress? I am saying that as a plant grows, if you take off the large fan leaves, leaving only the topmost, it will have less energy from photosynthesis to grow *UP*, causing it to push out a new node *in a more compact way*?

Well, you know that last picture that you got there if you know you hadn’t been using the potassium at the wrong time and been given a little bit more N and I’m pretty sure that those things should be pretty freaking green and look a lot different but that being said, there’s a lot of candidates that are out there for you man like are you looking for autos? Reg?
And generally, speaking tight in internodal spacing Is really in my experience dictated on how you grow. Your plants genetics too, but you really got a coax it along
Also sativa hybrid, what’s your preference?

how does one coax alone tight spacing? I was thinking defoliation during veg?

Control of your light,
Dialing in proximity and output can 100% achieve tight internodal growth on most cultivars. And aptitude in the pruning of a plant and lst.

The main part to this game is ensuring that during the stretch phase of flower that you are dialed in with your light proximity in order to ensure all your hard work and veg stays tight. It’s tough to do but once you get on that you’ve got the keys to that kingdom.

You're confusing or mixing up topping and defoliation maybe One is for training, the other is for growers choice in how they learned to grow or what they learned or decided on

so, close during stretch, right? it's low red that is thought to trigger a stretch response, as it can pass thru the canopy better than higher wavelengths, is that why?

There is a ratio for red and far red wavelengths that need to be achieved for this to really be applicable, but yes.

More of the capabilities and LED designs on modern grow lights. Sure you can supplement with other bulbs, but then you better be good at math and have every other aspect of your grow perfectly dialed in before you'd really see any benefit

Stretch happens basically when a plant wants to you know it’s a genetic thing it’s not really about you triggering the stretch. The only way that happens is by you setting the 1212.

you'd said somthing to the effect of "pruning" I'm wondering if, by that, you meant getting rid of bud sites on the cola lower down that have empty stem.

The object of pruning is 1 sure it’s nice to have a plant that looks clean And aesthetically pleasing but 2 and mainly it’s about manipulating your plant in order to push the growth to the points that you want most. This includes removing entire branches sometimes, but with the practices of LST in cannabis growth in conjunction with some pruning you can keep almost all the stalks on cannabis and not have to get rid of any as long as you keep them out of the way of each other.
Defoliation is strictly having to do with leaf removal

Simplus maybe even possible it’s all good man. It’s really a lot of the light manufacturers fault for putting terrible literature in with your lamps when you buy them the well intentioned new grower always gets snagged by that bullshit.

that is exactly what I was asking, thank you. When i said defoliation, I meant pruning, because I do remove axillary branches as well, so that only the topmost is growing. thanks
