Howdy all

I've got some clones in trays right now and my mothers have already been trashed...so I'm trying to be careful.

I'm leaving town tomorrow morning for a few days and I was really hoping that roots would be shooting out the bottom of my rock wool cubes. Currently, all of them look great and in the majority of them, I can see that roots are developing. In some cases, the rock wool has started to split and I can see healthy roots. In a few of them, the roots are shooting out the sides of the cubes. But there are a handful that you can not see any roots at all. And like I said, none of them are showing roots out the bottom of the rock wool.

If you were me, would you transplant in the morning into the larger rock wool cubes, under very weak light? OR, do you think I should keep them in their cubes and in the cloning tray, and see if I can get someone over here to water them while I'm gone?

if this happened to me, I would get a tote box that's not to tall and place all my clones in it after i water it. I would than take saran wrap and seal the whole tote to keep the moisture in it. when you see roots come out the side before the bottom, it means you are slightly overwatering. skip a day watering and itll start coming out the bottom's first. Raise your lights slightly say 6-12 inches if you go plan to go for more than 2 days.

So lock in all moisture? Don't they need to breathe? Especially over a 3.5 day period? I know I came here looking for advice, but this seems riskier than just keeping them in their current trays and having a friend water once while I'm gone...

My bigger question was can they handle being transplanted now or is there a high chance of them being stunted?

If it's someone you can trust to water i'd ask that friend. You are only gone for less than 4 days right?

yes lock it in, you'll be okay for 4 days. Don't transplant them out without seeing roots. I clone in this manner when I have a room with low humidity. I only exchange air every 3-4 days when I clone this way.

I got a little sick and between that and the clones, I decided to just cancel the trip. I think I should have them all transplanted within the next 24 hrs.

But thanks for the advice. Might come in handy some day
