Am I the only one that gets more yields off of seedlings as opposed to clones when I grow them outdoors? Indoors its the other way around. Just wondering if its climate related or what else it could be.
Clones have always been healthy when planted outdoors so its not like I am planting them when they are rootbound even though they do have a nice white healthy root ball. If thats just how it is I would like to know so I can give up on using clones next year and do an all out seedling crop.

these tree growers are all using clones. maybe its the clones you choose that are picky to out door conditions? most these growers dont use old moms and such they like new healthy plants. something under 2 months old before it goes out. what strains do you run? most plants are put out from a 5 -15 gal pot, the less rootbound the plant the faster it adapts. do you put you clones and seedlings in the same spots? same nutes and so on?

In general if you have a seedling and a clone of the same strain, the seedling will grow faster and yield more when grown outside. Seedlings tend to be heartier and more adaptable than clones and also develop a deeper root system as well. This is certainly not to say that you cannot get high yield of off clones, BUT seedlings usually have a slight edge outdoors.

Clones are faster for sure, as seedlings take awhile to show sex. If your outdoors it doesn't matter as much. I prefer clones if they're my own so I know if there are any pests or not. Wouldn't root mass of either also determine yield?

Seeds have taproots clones never grow them! Maybe that has something to do with it. Also depends on the strains your growing for sure. I feel seeds blow clones out of the water, but when you look at the big picture i beleive seeds grow better outdoor and clones thrive indoors. Think about if your mother plant is indoors and you bring the cuttings outdoor your clones will be stressing out. They will now have to get accumilated to the outdoors and it will take much longer then if the mother was grown outdoors. Your indoor clones should be grown technicaly under the same optimal conditions as the mother plant. They know where they were born and where they came from.

Hope that helped you out a bit and wish you luck!

I'm running Rez Killer Chem & Snowdog- Dr. Greenthumbs
Endless Sky, Oh Zone & the Dope. The seedlings are started stright in the ground and the clones are put in the ground at the same time. Clones are usually around 10" tall after hardening off then put in ground and they both are fed identical. Thanks

dont get wrong, I am still pulling at least a pound of dried bud off the clones but up to a few pounds off the seedlings. I would think that a clone would yield more but I am obviously wrong
Thanks for input bro.

Thanks for the knowledge bro, I think you nailed it with your taproot theory. It make sense to me now.
Thanks for your help
