A heat pad makes all the difference for me if rooting in just plugs on a tray.

If you are rooting in an aero cloner, use a small aquarium heater.
If you can get the root area up to about 80 degrees, rooting will take place much much faster.

I just use clonex gel and solution in an aero cloner with root riot plugs. I keep the cuttings in low light for a few days and usually roots pop by three days or so.

Very nice read. I flip my RR over and poke my own hole with a screw on the bottom, works great for me. :)

Yup, Rapid Rooters work pretty well.

All I do is add 3ml of cal-mag to a gallon, ph it to 6.0, and add a small heating pad on low. Keep them 'moist' not 'wet'. Humidity dome for the first day. No gel, nothing else. Thats SIMPLE.

hey man....a few people said overkill.but you have to start with a strong clone to get a strong plant and bigger yields......I tried it......minus the wet betty and I got great healthy roots inhalf the time as normal..thanx man........shamus

Wow ....Really well...rapid rotters work just fine but too wet too acidic and too high of price really... all that stuff you are adding is wastefule esp with an being in your pics n'all. i find that rapid rooters work better with slight phing via flishing with netrual water and root tech just by your images that ypou have posted.... Wishi had documents to prove this as i am new to community-9no rep in this hood g!) lol Aqua teen hunger force ref.LOL! And the best is some quality coco with root tech clonex is my 2nd choice in gels... you should fing that succsess is media or medium related more so than the stuf you are throwing at them dude!

I'm still waiting. I don't think it is overkill. Sure, some dirt and a baggie works too, but that is the real deal clone show there IMO.

Strong looking cuttings for 10 days off the vine.

Overkill? Maybe if you have a 400W kicking in your apartment. But definitely not if a cat might be involved in a legit mmj business. That is not overkill in that case at all - it is consistent quality clones.

Sweet tutorial, sweet clone operation.

definately not overkill. as this should be the standard for anyone that wants to keep their genetics pest and disease free, great looking clones the only thing that i would be led to believe is overkill is the ppm of the mixture, i might be mistaken but cuttings love around 400 to 600 ppm to my knowledge and experience, great thread

I love the aero cloner that I DIY'ed. All I do is just add plain old tap water and 3/5ml per gallon of Olivia's and in a week roots are 10"+ I read something out of High Times on how to DIY an aero cloner. It worked great, but then the next time I rebuilt it with somethings that I learned the first time around. Basically it's a Rubbermaid tub, 1/2 PVC pipe with fittings, hand full of sprayers in the 1/2" PVC pipe, tiny air pump with a air stone, and little water pump.

I also use the rapid rooters and have had great success with them. Yes the more love and care you give them the better chance you'll have of them rooting. The heat mat does work wonders, but you have to stay on top of it because it'll dry out fast on you.

But now have using both methods I believe the aero cloner is by far the superior method to use. Not only you can cut out half of the steps of the rapid rooter process you don't really have to do anything beside take you cutting and put it in the plug. My pump makes enough heat to keep the water at the right temp. I do change the water about 3 days into it, and then again in 3 days.

Botanicare Areoponic Power Cloner

This power cloner is by far the easiest and most effective way to clone. You choose how to cut your stems...split, scrape, strip, or just cut and place at least one node in the moist area under neoprene insert where the clone solution will be sprayed in stems until roots appear, usually 3 to 7 days depending on strain and overall health of mother plants.

Use either H&G Roots Excelurator or Botanicares Power Clone Solution. Both work very well.

You can us a humidity dome to maintain moisture but it is unnecessary in most cases. The humidome will help the little cuttings from losing the moisture they are pulling up from stems through transpiration. Allowing them to instead use that moisture and energy to create roots.

Another easy method is the grodan rock wool cubes 45 cube with tray and humidome. It is better to use the 45 cube than the 96 cube because of powdery mildew and they each have ore room for root growth.
