about the drivers

what would be the drawbacks of using a hlg-240h-c1400a to drive 5 cxb3590s and dimming it back towards 35watt? do i effectivley use more power ....does the driver still use 250w
is it even possible to run 5 36v cxb3590s..with 180v..... when the driver only has 179v max

just worried if i dont have enough light, upgrading would be fkt.
tryna leave my options open

the 3590 does not pull quite 36v at 1400ma so it does work using 5 cobs on the 240-1400ma driver.you might lose a few watts driving them soft on a big driver but not much, its nice to have that extra power if needed.setups sound good to me

Yeah go for the power.a 50w cree is still very efficient setup and gives good light down into even the biggest canopies. Although theres nothing wrong with the 35w setups with 10 to 12 inch spacing :)

managed to switch it up
changed both flower and veg bars

5x cxb3590 36v 80cri (4@2700k 1@3500k)
133mm pin hs
HLG-2400H-C1400A

4x clu048 1212 36v 80cri @4000k
133mm pin hs
HLG-185H-C1400A

ill start at 35w, just want to have a bit of reserve if i need it, dimmers will probly save my eyes too  tend to spend alot time with my sweeties

i wanna do perpetuel but im pretty hard set on rdwc, so im thinking setting the flowering room up with two rdwc systems to allow for seperate nute cycles.

i would have it in 1 room to utilise the overlaps but make it so i can split into two, that way if i run into temp probs in winter ill run them 1 after the other to keep temps constant
