Coco Path: 600w Hempy 4x4

Top ramen noodles! That's some serious root game! Right on buddy! Hahaha I'm loving that ramen term. The hydro store guys looked at me funny when I said I didn't need perlite to mix in or didn't want a pre blended mix. I just don't feel it's necessary...

Right on buddy! Hahaha I'm loving that ramen term. The hydro store guys looked at me funny when I said I didn't need perlite to mix in or didn't want a pre blended mix. I just don't feel it's necessary with coco if one follows good watering practices.

So I decided to move ahead with my monocrop idea after much thought. The Deep Purples, DeadHead, and Pure afghan are still hanging out in the veg tent with the main run for now.

I'll probably start up my nursery again and move the extras back for training and maybe some experiments when the Chocolate Hashberry's take all the light coverage. I imagine that won't be long as they are in 2gal fabric pots now. They even perked up only an hour or so after transplant.

I left the others in their solos for now but I did throw the DeadHead in a half gal container because I was tired of waking up early to water her specifically. Damn thirsty lady I'll say lol. On average she got fed 3-4 times a day in that solo cup. I'm going to train my cloning ability with these extra girls once they hit the nursery again. I'd like to dial that skill in. For some reason in the past I had random results.

Veg+Bloom and +life are the only two things I'm using right now, and of course frequent irrigation for added O2 to the root zone.

I love coco man! It's so simple. 5.8ph, feed nutrient every time, frequent irrigation's once the plant is established, never let it dry out and that's it.

I'm going to flower the 4 chocolate hashberry's after I veg and SCROG them out some more. The rest of the plants will be going back into the nursery for training, and cloning experiments.

Ahhhh, no shit. You did say that lol. Little bit of stoner brain and working 6-7 days a week. Chocolate hashberry just sounds good. Looking forward to seeing that run.

Here's a picture of the 3 deep purple's, Pure Afghan, and the DeadHead OG after a little irrigation. They will be going back to the nursery eventually for training and cloning experiments. If I can get my cloning down I MIGHT keep the deadhead OG as a bonsai mom.

They look so happy I had to share this pic. The DeadHead is appreciating her half gallon container(lol I'm so mean to her I hope she forgives me)

Girl's are still vegging out. Forgot to grab a cannopy shot. I'll try and get one up tomorrow but I have this root shot for yuh!(so obsessed haha)

I had the top of the coco covered with some plastic flora flex caps so it wouldn't dry out too fast before the roots had time to spread. Well that worked out well. I threw some more coco over the top to protect them and set the caps aside till later.

Alright! Things are starting to fill out nicely in the flower tent. Every day I'm coming closer to the canopy I want and then I'll flip the switch. Can't wait.

Chocolate Hashberry's on the perimeter. Topped DeadHead OG in the middle is the new plan. Probably going to up pot the DeadHead into a 2gal coco hempy bucket very soon(I tried to use a filter to lessen HPS intensity)

Got the Deep Purple's and Pure Afghan back in the Nursery along with all the tops as clones. Not really planning anything with them per say. I just did it to try and work on my cloning technique.

Looks good. That's how I was going to start before bad germ rates. 4 holy grail on the corners and a gsc in the middle. Unfortunately it didn't work out that way and now I have a 6 strain circus haha.

That DeadHead in the middle is pretty old now I've just been holding her back hard in small containers her whole life lmao. She's about 8 weeks from seed I think. This is a picture of her a few days before I topped her.

The Chocolate Hashberry's are a little over 2 weeks old now. They came as clones to me. Here's a pic of everything at that time.(Oh and the CH's are the ones on the bottom right)

I hear that man. My plan changed so many times and got pushed back for similar reasons. Gotta go with the flow and adapt right.

Adapting is a big part of it. I'm striving for consistency. I want things to stay relatively the same. I like automaton. I have to add water, nutes, and ph...
Soon I will have all ro water top offs automated, and that just leaves modifying Ec and ph about every 2 to 3 days...

Just transplanted the DeadHead into her final container! She went into a Coco Hempy. For those who know not of this technique here she is.

It's a 2gal bucket with one hole drilled about 2" from the bottom. Fill with perlite till it passes the hole. Fill the rest with coco coir. Wallah you have yourself a coco hempy bucket. The perlite acts as an internal passive reservior. Just feed until a little water comes out of the hole and you are golden.

Here's the roots from her previous half gallon container. She only spent about 8 days in the half gal hahaha.

Behold brother the way of ramen roots!:singing: haha there really isn't much to it here you go man!

Simplicity is key here. I've had worse results with more products in the mix than what I'm using now. Of course the coco standards still apply. pH 5.8-6.0 and always feed never plain water.

I use 3 things:
  • 100% coco!!!
  • Veg+Bloom(1 part base nutrient)
  • +Life(microbial innoculant)
Root boosters, accelerators, enzymes, blah blah ya w/e they are I think they are a waste of money. I even question if +Life truly makes a huge difference, but that's another story hahaha.

It's all really about not letting coco dry out. That is the DEAL BREAKER. Let it dry out like soil and say goodbye to ramen noodles and a lot of other things too :banghead:. This has got to be the hardest thing for soil growers to get over(I had a hard time myself). Coco loves to be watered frequently. At least 1 feed a day is good enough to ensure it pulls in fresh oxygen to the roots as well as balanced nutrients. When my deadhead was stuck in her solo cup I gave her feeds 2-3x a day and she loved it. The only exception would be a small plant in a big container right after transplant. Only then do I wait a couple days to feed again, but I still never let the top get dry.

To sum it all up. Water often in coco and you will attain ramen!

Much appreciated noodle master! I've read so much about newbs over watering that I think it had me afraid to water every day. I've heard you say straight coco a few times and I'm definitely taking notes!

Anytime brotha! haha ya man it's very hard to get over. We've all learned the horrors of over watering in soil. We just gotta start understanding that the term "over watering" is kind of misleading or else DWC, UC, NFT wouldn't work. It's all about the oxygen to the roots. So when people are "over watering" poorly aerated soil they are actually depriving the roots of oxygen and that's why the leaves droop down, but with 100% coco that just doesn't happen. It holds tons of air and water in it. Just pour some water in pure coco and listen to the glorious crackling sound of air being pulled into the medium. I love it hahahaha.
