What up Farmers?

after a long time with the UC in this room and having some specific recurring issues, i had to re-evaluate my growing style in order to stay inline with my financial obligations.

so the logical choice was coco in smart pots. these are 7 gal with about 40% chunky perlite, 30% coco chips, and 30% roots organics coco palms. this transformation was done over a weekend basically on the fly. so i got some 20" water heater drip pans, sat them on the UC bucket, and drained all them down the middle just like in a mpb setup. i took my top off rez and and my recirc pump and bought some hydro halos and a short cycle timer and some pvc and plumbed it all up with ball valves at each plant. i eventually made little stands for the pots so they could fully drain. i even reused the tomato cages from the UC.

the room:
11 x 18
4 1k MH
4 750w duals
4 750w HPS
2 ton split
2 ton window
grozone controller and green air co2 burner
titan eos-1 with ideal air humidifier plus an older console as needed
65 pint dehuey
55 gal rez chilled with a jbj 1/4 hp, an ap-100 with an 8" disc for air, and each plant has a 9" hydro halo pressurized with a danner mag 9.5. also a watergate to prevent any siphon leakage.

Nutes:
H16 a+b
H16 Prime
H16 Fire
H16 Foliar
Bloom Silica in veg then as ph up in flower
Roots XL
Caps Bennies

Here are some randoms and a few of my harvest so far:

Heres a fan leaf from one of the Cheese:

I also have a plant that is an unknown. she has a very low leaf/calyx ratio, smaller buds, she grows upwards of 12 and 13 leaflets, and grows buds in the center of the leaf. any ideas?

This is what remains of a Cindy 99 that yielded me 4625 grams of trimmed bud so she should be upwards of 3 lbs in hopin. i had to bring in a 12 bulb t5 bad boy to give her some top light.

here is my special queen by royal queen seeds. she was chopped at 55 days and came in at just over 1400 grams wet.

ill post some more harvest shots as they come down.

You will end up with more meds now. Downside is much slow vegging. You might consider larger containers next run,if you want some trees. Also that standing water in those pans might cause some things you do not need. I set up a room for someone using 10 and 20 gal containers using a chow mix. The 20 are by far larger and with the least amount of stress. Good luck with your new system,it took me a few weeks to dial in watering 20 gal of coir since I only run rcdwc and aero. I am sure you will not look back to that other sys. Suerte JK

thanks for the tip JK, always appreciated. the first 2 weeks for so, i had the pot on the white grate just sittin on some sticks of 1/2" pvc, but saw that the pots were'nt completely draining and staying wet on the bottom few inches. thats where the green algae started up. at that time i was also trying to figure out my feed times. in a few of the pics you can see the little legs that i cut from 2" pvc along with grooves in them for the grates to sit in. after that they all completely drained. i already have transplanted 6 of the 9 for my next round into 10 gal smarties with pure canna coco to go for more yield and im fairly certain ill see an incremental result. the other 3 that are a bit smaller than those 6, will go into 7 gal with a chow mix to experiment with, ill likely start off with a 25% hydroton/75% coco. and i agree, with the simplicity of whats going on here, going back to an rdwc just doesnt make sense right now.

oh yea the Fire is great, these are some of the frostiest nuggets ive ever had, im stoked to see how they all turn out. i also feel their Prime is beneficial as it encompasses many of the normal products we normally use, ie, molasses, yeast extract, etc. heres a write up on it:

PRIME

PRIME is an ultra-diverse liquid formulation designed for use at all times of your crops cycle. We have formulated Prime to be the centerpiece of the Heavy 16 program, but its chemistry allows for flexibility throughout cultivation systems and alternative feeding programs. Primes superiority to other products including proprietary derivatives and mixing procedures will eliminate your need for multiple other additives that would be considered redundant or incomplete according to our data. Carbohydrate complexes, L-amino acid and B vitamin supplements, kelp and natural phyto-hormone derivatives, and high grade humic acids are all represented in Primes composition. Along with these necessary standard constituents, we have relied on our superior plant nutrition experience and expertise to add an exotic trace element suite, six forms of potassium (including potassium silicate), yeast and plant extracts, ultra-fine low molecular weight fulvic acid, and proprietary organic acids to ensure your crop and its microbial life are optimally fortified and functioning at their peak metabolic/intelligence levels. Tastes, colors, flavors, brix levels, and essential oil production will all be heightened while expressing the plants true phenotype. To sum things up, we classify PRIME as an engineered microbial feed, a flower activator/fruitifier, and an oozer/finisher all in one. In addition, Prime will aid in bolstering the plant’s defenses against stress, and will assist in the development of a robust root system, with increased branching and vertical uniformity throughout the foliage.

While using Prime, we advise our growers to be creative. Prime is very simple to work with and is primarily organic in composition. You can vary the rates to suit your particular environment and crop phase with no adverse side effects. Prime is a necessary addition to any natural compost tea or complex hydroponic or soil fertility program and should be used while “brewing” your reservoir.

Our exotic trace element suite has been treated with a patented procedure to eliminate any heavy metals making it very safe for you and the environment. Also, our outstanding Fulvic acid that we blend with is derived from a high ligand deciduous hardwood forest that gives it a streamlined low molecular weight structure allowing it to rapidly chelate minerals and make them bioavailable.

Derived From: Potassium Sulfate, Potassium
Acetate, Potassium Thiosulfate, Potassium
Sorbate, Potassium Chloride, Potassium Silicate,
Ferrous Sulfate, Molasses, Kelp (Ascophyllum
Nodosum), Yeast Extract.

Guaranteed Analysis:
Soluble Potash (K2O). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.8%
Sulfur (S). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.12%
Iron (Fe). . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 0.17%

Also Contains Non-Plant Food Ingredients:

I use and think all their products are great. They do their jobs really well and they mix super clean compared to other comparable items on the shelf right now. I heard Bryce is thinking about dropping a Roots Excel/Rapid Start type product as well as their own bene's too!

glad to see another happy h16 user. great products from good people!

try trimmin those girls up a bit on the inside up until the end of week 2 in flower. you'll get way more uniform nugs n a lot less scribble.

good job...

here's some info on the new Flush which will be out the end of the month along with the Fire

The Flush Purifier is an Ultra-Fine Fulvic material that is treated with a natural process that removes the unused parts of the molecule and just leaves the fine sequestering body, making it about 160 times more effective than a standard low molecular weight fulvic. We add Organic potassium sulfate to enhance flavor and to keep a subtle osmotic gradient (300-400 ppm at 10 mL/gal) in the final week that helps draw salts, metals, and impurities out of the vascular system while allowing for a moderated transfer of water into the plant. It is the same idea behind saline solution for an IV drip but with the benefit of pulling impurities out. You want regulated hydration or you will get airy fruit and an abundance of water weight in the end. Heavy Flush allows for dry weight concentration, taking less time to cure and dry final product, while giving fruit a wonderful earthy flavor. It is 100% organic and contains no EDTA or synthetic chelators. You can run the product at half strength throughout your growing cycle or just the last week at full strength. Running at half strength throughout the grow will allow for ultra-chelation of your reservoir and optimum functionality of your soil or media. I currently chelate all the micronutrients and calcium with this fulvic in both part A’s (Veg and Bud), so there is a touch in the base. I like to tell my customers that the Flush Purifier is a “redeemer” for all the synthetic, hormonal and mineral abuse you put your plants through

Im workin on gettin some additional strains in the stable but im definitly happy with the way these girls turned out. Most of these plants came to me as clones from my homie at Pharma Seeds here in MI whose workin with some quality gear and puttin together some solid crosses. Good things to come from him for sure.

What would you reccomend?
