You will want to avoid the drop in chillers. They are very inefficient unless you are passing lots of water over the coil. You will see much better energy efficiency with an inline chiller. Also with a drop in you are forced to have the chiller inside the garden which is counter productive for cooling the garden.

Aqualogic is a good brand although its expensive. For an less expensive chiller go for the JBJ or an ECO plus commercial unit (not the standard aquarium chiller). If you want the best IMO it's the ChillKing, it can be placed outside which is the best place for it.

For the best efficiency of ANY chiller make sure that it gets plenty of fresh air and that the flow rate is correct according to the chiller manufacturers recommendations. The only way to know for sure is to measure the water on the return water line from the chiller, drop in a 5 gallon bucket, fill the bucket and time it. With that info you can get gallons per hour on the return. You can slow flow down by just adding a simple inline ball valve.

Thanks Chillville you are my go to for any Chiller related inqueries!!

I def. agree with you about the chill king cv... I just bought a 2hp chillking and it is amazing and very efficient... I over sized it quite a bit but will be great when i decide to upgrade my room... Guess all im trying to do is put in a good word for chill king although expensive it is worth every penny..
