Started as brown crude. Dewax over alumina. Then vacuum distillation to remove terps only. Then DCVC to remove generally purple colored compounds always present as a trace and which will age into darker purple and show up later. Then two passes through my cryogenic sublimator under mean free path flow conditions of ¾ of one micron vacuum. Temperature for final pass was set at heating mantle 128C nominal.
Until I took it out of the deep vacuum and exposed this to air for the photo and of course to dab lolz this sample was likely as close to lab grade standard as possible in a home hobby lab.
How does it vape? Smooth as expected however I have shared this with folks to pass around and get feedback. All agree potency is off the charts lol but I get the feeling that generally it is a tad over the top for casual users. It has a definite delayed effect and at about four to six minutes the cognitive effect sets in deeply. It has a remarkable focusing effect and really not at all giggly or goofy. For the nerve damage (severe) I treat along with other symptoms this is hands down the most effective medicine and at one point my docs had prescribed 180 mg day morphine and 40 mg day hydrocodone for the same thing.
I am now and always will be opiate free.
I rarely measure for yield except a few times. When the concentrate tests at 60% THC or so I can get 57% of total weight returned as this kind of isolate when I was careful and measured. The problem with measuring is that a lot of the compound transfers from run to run meaning that I don’t always boil the flask dry and just save the med for the next batch. Plus this is my personal med so I dab as I go along but my best estimate is the isolate recovered is likely 3% lower than what the labs say it starts as. Some gets converted when breaking vacuum to harvest because hot and pure extract darkens second by second exposed to atmosphere so technique and haste make a difference.Beautiful work equals beautiful miracles.
