me as well using 1000 watt MH/HPS not a big difference say $30-40 each bill?,.. canadian

Growing my own is my only option unless I want to reacquaint myself with all the shifty types. Skirt the law while I’m on the road.

I'm using led. My biggest cost is my heating and cooling. If I could bring them into the house where it's already heated and cooled, that would save me a lot.

I like being able to control everything inside. And putting everything together so it works well, overcoming the challenges of getting everything dialed in is fun. I would grow some plants outdoor if I could, but I'll always enjoy growing inside.

by far worth the cost, no way, shape, or from would I be able to buy the amount of bud I smoke if I was buying from a dispo, the equipmwnt start up costs are a bit, but off a good grow the first harvest can pay for all that itself

Haven’t bought from a dispo since I stuck my first seed in soil even looking at those prices disgust me now (as do half the strains they try to push as “top shelf”)

wtf than how come they aren’t tilling the ground, planting seeds, pulling weeds, harvesting, trimming,rolling doobies etc basically all labour involved?,..

Nothing better than a hand rolled joint, was the first thing I learned when I was about 12 tried all the rollers and gimmicks but nope, nothing can beat pure hand rolled

Had to take a break for 8 years, first thing I did when I started smoking again was whipped up a quick doob, like riding a bike muscle memory never forgets

At 420 an ounce or 20 a gram here, I think I can afford the extra 15 dollars a month in electricity to grow my own. Bonus, its always consistently potent, and I pull 12 ounces out of a 2x4 every 3 months. Every 2 months only got me 8. So 15 dollars for 4 more ounces.

Assuming the equipment has been recovered:

Canada: Roughly ~$200 for a 12 week crop (photo`s)
*$80 elec, plus $90 nutes and sups, $30 clones OR $60 seeds
Yield from a 3×3 w 300w COBs :
3oz to 8oz of premium weed plus all the stuff I can make out of trim.

Strains I like but are hard to find, clean and well cured

Add the fun, challenges, and learning
Sense of accomplishment, pride, and being able to give gifts

So yeah, worth it.

Compare with government dispensaries (private are more$)
*Cheapest crappiest weed is $90/oz. Not good enough to cook.
*Premium bud is over $320/oz, even more if it is only sold in 8ths.

That said, I still buy a bit from MOMs and dispensaries, for variety and because I grow indicas and sometimes I need something more stimulating to get stuff done.

Yeah, I'm happily not communicating with those old unreliable types I used to have to chase down for a sack. I really don't give a rat's ass anymore about the cost of my grows. Even if I had dispo weed (at a huge savings even) I would still grow my own. I don't look at it as dollars and cents since it's almost a life style and one of the best hobbies ever.
