This is my first grow but I’ve been having issues with my white widow. It has looked like it has been deficient since beginning of early veg.
Temps are at 72 humidity at 50
3gal pots
FFOF soil
Nutes
Cal-Mag@ 2.5ml/Gal
GH foranova Grow @ 3ml/Gal
Recharge 1/2 tsp/Gal

PPMs in - 550
PPMs out - 585

could someone knowledgeable please help please, need to resolve this before flowView attachment 1112344View attachment 1112345

I’d cut out the cal mag for a few waterings and only use 1 ml per gal when you resume use. I would also up your feed ppms to 650ish and switch over to bloom nutrients. She looks like she could use the extra p and k.

So you think I should up the nutes? I water, feed, water, feed. I go about 4 or 5 days between water and feeding. I like to make sure soil is dry before re watering. As of now she’s moist, got watered a couple days ago.

Got it, going to up it. 75% grow 25% bloom? 50/50 or just completely switch over? I still have a lot of veg left. I started them early inside for a head start on the season. I’ll be transplanting outdoor June 1st.

I’d go 100% bloom for the next feeding or two. There’s enough nitrogen in floranova bloom to keep em going.

Reason for the low temp is because I just kind of threw something together temporarily without tent. Just some pvc, bed sheets and lights hanging from ceiling. Call it ghetto I know lol so basically the temps are coming from my house AC.

Also a very interesting thing I’ve forgot to mention is my ph going in is 6.5 but coming out is 5.0? People all seem to have different opinions on this. I can accurately test my soil ph because I don’t have a test kit. But I would assume it’s in the low end. I added bor lime to each pot to raise the ph. But unfortunately it probably won’t make a difference anytime soon but that cal and mag might be crazy high. I’m stopping cal-mag all together until she tells me otherwise.

Ur on the right track - ph is us usually caused from salt build up but you ppm is pretty low? That line will take a couple weeks like ya said - easy to over do cal mag

If you don’t have a test kit how do you know the ph is 5 coming out? Ph isn’t something you can guess at.

I’m sorry for the confusion, what i meant is a soil ph meter. I have multiple ph test kits GH and my aquarium ones. I don’t guess, I have everything jotted down in detail in my journal

Thanks, interestingly enough I went to test the runoff ph on FFOF soil straight from the bag on 2 different batches and with 2 different ph test kits and they all ran off at 5.0 with 6.5 going in. What gives? I’m over here scratching my head

Ok so it take buffered soils time to activate the lime they use to buffer. What your seeing is not uncommon. I'd verify ph of runoff with your drop or aquarium tester. But at this point it should be ok

Second that FFOF has nutrients in it not sure they would be depleted yet. And as @Moshmen said a buildup can cause ph to drop. This is important to watch the ph and ppm (ppm less so in soil but still can be helpful)

If you are underwatering or over watering you will see deficiencies. Also with uneven watering that can create dry spots. If you are underwatering then that can cause nutrients to concentrate and drop the ph since most nutrients are generally acidic in the ratios and sources in these nutrients.

When you water are you getting runoff?

Can you test ppm of runoff?

Get the pots up off the floor that may help with root temps and also try to bring tenps up close to 80f.

I dont see any reason for the cal mag unless using RO water.

Stop using PH down in your nutrients you soil is buffered and will adjust the ph. The ph going in will change to the ph the soil is buffered at and you should only see a ph issue being low if you have a buildup of nutrients, over feeding microbes or a mass microbe death.
