just need to figure out where to get some rubber u shaped gasket.
That way i can cut a square hole in lid. then use the cutout as the hole lid on a hinge with that black rubber gasket around it. It will seal it and make the cutout a little bigger so it wont fall thru...

i like the way he did that flap on lid!Lol looking at it it’s not that pretty but imo it probably works and the res being directly under the table it blocks it from too much stuff getting in.
Edit I bet if you cut out a corner instead of the middle it would work better..
