2 seeds harvested from the same plant
completely different charastics
even the smells
the one on the left smells like pine
the one on the right smells like peaches

like you rub the branch and sniff where you rubbed....and that is what they smell like

that is the reason for "pheno hunting"
you seed stock my carry 3-4 differ distinct traits that you may get with one plant or the other
so breeders plant 100's or 1000's to find that one they are looking for
even with Fem seeds....you will get the variation of what ever the mother carries

definitely a major factor for such a small yield IMO
compared to the top drip

very good point on the rw.. kinda changes the comparison. He should of used hydroton in the f+d,, then showed us a comparison... both in their designated medians.

I also really like recirculating constant feed systems
say Hydroton or perlite.....
with top drip constant running
those are basically another way of NFT but much simpler
and pretty effective

I understand what you mean now by pheno hunting. maybe that explains why 2 plants have stronger smell than the other, and two of them have lighter green bud than the other. even tho same strain.

and they look good as hell by the way. My seedlings are pathetic looking. I am about ready to slice straws and put around them to hold them up till I get the buckets set up and a light. The rest of the seedlings, I am gonna put in coco/hydroton in 1/2 gallon sq pots under the t5. After a few weeks I will keep the best seedling from each strain, and dispose of the rest. Keep my plant count down.

I would just put them in party cups filled with coco/hydroton
and let them grow up
you already have the clones
and this harvest is gonna get you through
the clones should be ready soon to throw in the buckets
when these seedling get a little bigger trasnplant to 1/2 gal and take cuttings....when they root ...stick the cuttings in the buckets.....all those in coco can be moms
make sure you label
find the best one out of the bunch and keep that as the mom and then you have forever plants to flower
just an idea
once you have a keeper mom....tou can always plant more seeds and do it all over but you will always have a mom and cuttings being flowered

that is literally what I have done

although I am taking a break
and starting new genetics
I have had this mom for almost 2 years

Also I think I will leave the 4 bucket veg system set up just the way it is, with the air pump recirculating. With the 4 buckets for flower, instead of buying another control bucket and res, and waterfarm recirculating fixture, I am just gonna use my flood table pump. It has a flow valve already on it, and it can sit outside the res. I can then use my 30 gal tote as the res. Cheap, and easy. should have almost everything i need.

The biggest reason I have for not wanting to do that is, I am flowering the candy next, which is what the clones came off of, so I don't want to run the same thing twice by them selves. And my biggest reason, is 2 of them seeds are incredible bulk, and I am dying to grow these. It is all I can think about. I am actually gonna put these 4 in the buckets. 2 incredible bulks, 1 pakistani, 1 bag seed... The rest are going in coco.. The clones were more of a ,, can I do this practice. You showed me i could. They will go in coco 1/2 gal pots too.

yeah...just a though...as I have experienced many times....serious letdown ..with seeds...that is why places like here in Cali...alot of people don't even bother with seeds
they go out and get say...an OG Kush clone and mom it out
that is actually how breeders work....exchange or buy cuts and then run a shit ton of seeds of a certain strain to find the best male to marry to a clone only....the offspring could be shit or amazing.....

the only reason why I suggested to keep them as moms....you take the clone of each one and flower that out...if it good you then keep the base plant and keep flowering out those clones

it is really hard to keep a mom in straight hydro
you have to constantly reset the mom ( take a clone....root it...and replace the mom with it) or you have a huge garden where you need that many clones constantly
because straight hydro causes rapid growth...and with coco you can feed semi light....and let it dry 50% before watering again....which will slow growth down....for keeping moms

and one of these incredible bulks could be the super shit

No,,, my $50 worth of auto seeds are on the back burner. i want to be able to control my plants not have it decided for me. So photos from here on out, untill i feel like playing with them. But using party cups is a great idea,,, cheap, and they work great!

or another suggestion......when you drop in the buckets.....allow the tops to get to at least 7 nodes and then top to the 3rd....it will then have about 6 tops
clone the top portion ...
if the flowers turn out good.....keep the clone as a mom
if not...toss the shit

Man I am hoping so.. we will see.. hell my bag seed could be the diamond in the rough. If I smoked to much it would make me nod a bit. It wasn't good for getting any work done. so that is what is awesome,, I just have no idea what I am gonna get. And wish you prob know this best,, I have a lot of things to experience here for the first time, and I don't get many first timers these days,, so I am gonna enjoy the ride. I worked and waited many years for kids to grow up, and me to have my own place I own... now its my turn to have a little fun.

I am gonna see how fast they grow, and then by the 7th node i will have an idea, growth, node spacing, and then I will decide what I am gonna do. Since I have only 4 buckets to fill that 4x4 canopy, AND i have never grown plants taller than 2.5 feet, I don't really know what to expect. And when stretch happens, I don't completely know what will happen with node spacing. I dont want to waste space on the bottom more than needed. 1 foot top of plant and 3 foot of nothing has me petrified... lol just a lil... so really the same as taking my baby steps with autos, i know have to take some with photos... Hell wish, just to make a point, i thought my plants had buds 4 weeks ago,,, which i now know were just pistols... Go ahead get your laugh in:)... I now see what buds look like

Ok now what you said earlier was that a 1k in a 4x4 could yield 1.5 to 2.5.. so if I could just get 1 per 1k which from those numbers is not very good, then that means 4 plants have to produce a 1/4lb. and you think that in your opinion, that topping down from the 7th to the 3rd node is the way to go. above topping numerous times? Are even better than putting it in a scrog?

no...you first top down from 7 to 3
then once all the nodes grow out you can top multiple nodes again
this will show you exactly what I am talking about

no... but did you see what i mean by topping.......every branch that grows up ...when it gets to a certain point you top it....and it bushes out
keep the lights high so your plant will stretch some until it is done stretching....then you drop it down closer to finish.....
