I've been researching " cover crops " for cannabis . Seems they can be very beneficial;
  • Prevent erosion.
  • Sequester nutrients.
  • Reduce soil compaction.
  • Suppress weed growth (well, the weeds you don't want)
  • Repel unwanted pests.
  • Provide habitat for beneficial organisms.
The more popular cover crops seem to be ;
  • Clover: Clover is a nitrogen-fixing legume that adds nitrogen to the soil. ...
  • Buckwheat: Buckwheat grows quickly, providing excellent weed suppression. ...
  • Rye: Rye is a hardy winter cover crop that forms an extensive root system, improving soil structure and preventing erosion
I'm mostly interested in Clover. Does clover also balance nitrogen, if the nitro was too high would it help adjust?

What cover crops are you using?

I have clover growing in my lawn. It's excellent for that purpose.

Did you test your soil for N? As N is easily depleted from soil and fluctuate over a really short period (and why most soil test don’t even include it). Since glover is a N-fixer it will actually increase N in your soil if not removed. Think the rye will take up existing nitrogen.
