I had my plants hang drying in 55rh at 70 degrees for 11 days on the 12th day my heat got stuck on in the room and it went up to 85 degrees. I then trimmed buds and jarred them with boveda packs. My question is are they ruined now?

How was your rh when you realized it? I'd say your fine just watch the rh in the jars. Throw some pix and did they get darker or change in color from day 11 to 12?

Only you can tell that. Do they crumble or just squish when you squeeze them?

Usually the outside gets crispy but the inside of the bud still has some moisture.

I think you would have to do a lot worse than that to completely ruin them but in my opinion they may have passed the optimal jarring point before you had the temperature spike. As soon as the outside leaves make crinkly sounds when touched (usually 5-7 days for me) I place the untrimmed bud in jars with small hygrometershygrometers. I dont place the lids on the jars until the hygrometers drop to the 60-65% rh range. Once they do the lid goes on until the rh goes back above 65% and I keep repeating the process until the rh stabilizes (still burping the jars daily regardless). If you have a hygrometer you can see just how dry your bud may have become and use that info to more accurately adjust the rh with your boveda packs. They should be able to suck up some more moisture and still smoke ok even if it could have been better.

I thought those boveda packs are for after a full cure. I cured for 3 months then put them in.

You want to control the rh during drying and curing so the packs can be useful for both but they are not the most ideal method for either.
