All outdoor plants get yellow leaf during the flowering period. Of course excess watering speeds the yellowing along. Thin the plant out remove small spindly branches and i'd wrap some sort of hemp rope/twine around the trunk attach it to that fence. I don't grow those " trophy trees " do to all the issues you get in the fall during flowering.
