Well it's begun. Night temps have dropped considerably. Day before yesterday we had a high winds that broke a couple branches and the temp dropped to 29 degrees. 1 of my plants had some leaves die from the cold. Other 2 were hating it but looked ok. Last night it was 34. Haven't been out to look at them yet. Not sure what to do. Nights won't get much warmer. My plants never finish. I have never had a plant harvested because it has ambered enough in my 4 years growing. None of them have any amber at this point still. Will probably just pull them. I dont anticipate much if any change at all going forward. My grow season is to short and my garden not sunny enough. Disappointed.

Cant you cover them at night with a blanket/sheet? Maybe create an insulated cardboard box, fit around plant, then throw blanket over that. I'd also throw blankets at the base. You can add warm jars of water to heat up the base of the plant. - Good luck.

Who? I’ll save you a post. If it happens to be me! 30 gallon, 35 gallon, 40 gallon! I don’t have to slide them far! In this heat, I won’t go smaller than 30 and bigger is better!

Yeah, they are! But you only have to fill them once! Then just keep re-amending and reusing! Not to make it sound like I know what I’m doing, but I started with 10, five, maybe a 20 and six bags of 0F! Five years ago! Just keep adding on every year! Now I’m up there well over 300 Gallons of reuse soil! It works just fine for me Bulk amendments are cheap! 200 bucks worth might last for five years! Just depends on your situation! Mother nature forced my hand when I couldn’t grow anything in this heat in a small pot! So I had to upsize! And these Are not big pots or plants by any means! I’m saying, just don’t be afraid to mix up your own soil! If you think there’s a need for it! And in the ground around here I don’t even want to think about! L O L

I’m what you call “central” (but Dodger fans call Northern) and can see the big lake out west. Grandparents had a place out in the Trinity Alps and guessing you have similar weather. My May & June were noticeable cooler this year and a real slow start.

As everyone says, there’s no substitute for sun. And while it might be blasphemy with all the nice dirt, if your schedule allows you might try some large fabric pots on pallets and wheels and move them during the day.

If you want to be really cool grab some large scale yard train tracks and inch your pots along while you’re at work. For sure you’ll get in High Times!

Your going to need a "Lazy Susan" to rotate all the plants North side consistently pointing North. Trust me... the Earths' magnetics converse with the plants growth.

Well another 28 degree night. Went out and looked at my plants and all the leaves are drooping. My hand may have just been forced.

Not good. Blankets...

Frost damage in cannabis plants can be identified by several symptoms:
  1. Discoloration: Leaves may turn black or dark brown, indicating cellular damage.
  2. Wilting: Frost-damaged plants often exhibit wilting or drooping leaves and stems.
  3. Necrosis: Dead tissue may appear on leaves and buds, leading to decay and mold issues.
Frost can cause the water within plant cells to freeze. As water expands when it turns into ice, it can rupture cell walls, leading to cellular damage or death. Cold temperatures slow down the metabolic processes in plants, including photosynthesis. This can hinder growth and reduce the plant’s ability to produce energy. Frost can also affect the soil, making it harder for roots to absorb water and nutrients. This can lead to deficiencies and overall poor plant health.

Well brought in my Ayahuasca Purple after work. My Mimosa looks pretty happy still. Crazy shit. Tough ass plant. I'm going to cover it tonight and probably bring it in tomorrow. Can't decide if I should bring it or my Tropicana Banana first.
