Happy New Year 2026! I'm just here watching your house plants! Lovely fun! This plant is amazing how it will take over lives if we don't have some guard rails... haaha our mates are guard rails at times! ;) I'm glad you could correct your lighting & plants are looking good. I'm buying seed like crazy. Not knowing what will be ... but ... hey ... if we have to grow inside we'd better get ready hahaha. I've actually seen video's of guys talking about growing weed on a window sill.... I'm like O hell no haha....there must be canna bots now... haha Happy High New Year 2026!Thanks poozgrowz!
I'd like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. We had a little gathering here at our place last night, some drinking, gaming and indulging in some of this years crop.
My current girls were a little sad, I had to order cal-mag on amazon. Another thread here lead me to believe that my lights might have been a bit too bright so I brought those down a little also. I'm sure I could benefit from some more gear like a light meter and soil pH tester. I'm hoping to see some improvement but as we all know it takes a little time for things to turn around.
The runt, Minnie, is actually looking the best; green and healthy. The little fella off to the side is Mr Basil.

I'm on board watching to see the results from your experiment. So today we're at 80 days with #1 (Leia), 78 days with #2 (Minnie) and 71 days with #3 (Regina). The cal-mag appears to have helped and I add it to the GH feed mix (micro, grow & bloom). Although Minnie was a slow starter she's done quite well for herself. She's in a pot with RO bottle feeding and gets sprinkles of mix also. Aside from that she was planted in recycled soil and has never shown any signs of stress so that seems to have been a good move.
This is the time where I believe 1 & 3 with the better lights want to switch to flower. For no explainable reason I recently cut off an hour of light on them so currently 15/9. Something cpurola posted has made me think that perhaps just reducing them another hour to 14/10 may be a good idea for a little while rather than straight to 12/12. The light on Minnie is 12/12 max anyway so nothing on her will likely ever change, I try to coordinate her with sun in the window.
Any thoughts on the 14/10 cycle for the beginning of flower from the experienced folks here? Always appreciate the great advice I receive!
Leia at 80 days seems reasonably happy, a little over 3ft tall.

Minnie at 78 days, despite slow development, has always been the least stressed.

Regina at 71 days has long been more thin than the others but doesn't appear to be suffering too much otherwise.

Hey bro, more dark hours speeds up flowering, less stretching more focused on buds.Any thoughts on the 14/10 cycle for the beginning of flower from the experienced folks here? Always appreciate the great advice
Always used a dollar bill because you can cone it or whatever by feel. The only machines I tried were $20 head shop specials though. My plants are into flower...
Thanks for the Flash-back!!!!!!!!! hahahahaaa!! Dang now I want to roll a few lol! I seriously forgot about those cones! Those 60 & 70's memories are few & far between anymore lolAlways used a dollar bill because you can cone it or whatever by feel. The only machines I tried were $20 head shop specials though.
Regina has some purple tipped leaves, I haven't seen this kind of thing before..

I've seen the show stopper colors be night time lows and end of run water only time caused... or eggshells finely crumbed under the first inch of soil if you top water and keep up the micro helpers. I've seen it bnut not done it so youi gotta figure out if the shells need treating.Color in the plant is due to lower night temps often. That and the strain is one that colors up.

I have valves in the autopot lines and can turn the autowater off when I want. Nothing says you can't do both top watering and auto water.I actually just added "top dress" kinda... my pot got low so I added Promix microrhyzial soil, a bit of hand crushed bone meal from pellets, worm castings, Great White (a little). This is a 12-14 day to start late and end of flower helper activated by the first hand watering. I might go to ALL hand watering while my dripper system is fun and pleasing from a hobby standpoint, ultimately I like to hand water from a jar mix.
That's very good for not living in a tent!
My gals are heavy into flower now, I haven't taken a close look at these buds yet, I'm sure it will still be a while before they get cloudy. They seem to want all the late flower grow juice I can poor on them.
Yes agreed, I'm thinking a month still at least. I juiced them to late bloom mix just to see if they can handle it! I might even take them outside just to see if they can hang! Sunny and nice lately.Greg. That isn't late flower. You are early flower still.
I would like to try a tent sometime but I expect to achieve my best success with outdoor growing and that'll start soon here. That's very good for not living in a tent!
