What do I do at this point? I want to throw them both away 😒 the gnats destroyed them before I could get rid of them.

Looks like maybe they got nuked from bad nutrients or something since it's localized to newer leaves and the bottom branches look sort of ok.

I also have never seen that from fungus gnats, and I had them bad once. I used sand to cover the dirt COMPLETELY. Diatomaceous earth works too, but watering is tricky with it. Sand doesn't disappear with watering. Cover your dirt and give them a week or two, should grow out of it, unless there is something else going on.

If you cover the soil with diatomaceous earth and its a hassle for watering you can put a layer of lava rocks on top. Like an Arizona flower bed. And it will make watering easier. Won't wash away your DE as bad.

No way that's damage from fungus gnats.
You sure you don't have any other infestation cause gnats can't do that to your leaves.
Pretty sure gnat larvae are what do damage to your plants not the actual fly itself and when I say damage I use that term pretty loosely cause I have never actually seen any damage by gnats and I've had them bad a few years ago. They are just annoying really cause they will get stuck in your trichs and are just generally annoying flying about your head.
Maybe cause I grow in organic soil and the larvae have stuff to eat they leave my plants alone 🤷‍♂️

This is what helped me get rid of them for good

is that mold growing on the surface of the soil?
