Devil XXL Auto

My devil turned brown. Then it got crispy. It's not getting lighter as far as water. What happened?

The undersides of the buds stayed green

The other plant (also Devil XXL) is not following the same color pattern.

I am thinking I could go straight to curing.

The plan was the brown one was getting cut now. The other one has been 2 weeks behind the entire time.

The brown one is crispy. Can I go straight into curing?

Pull on one of those soft looking brown leaves. If it comes off easily, bud rot. Pictures can be deceiving but thats what it looks like to me.

The leaves resist when pulling. But they are all super crunch.

Good, it's not bud rot.

Root rot / crown rot/ pythium/ phytophthora stem rot.

Give the stem a good looking over. It’s probably brown and brittle

Can bud rot affect the entire plant from the top down? Evenly? I'm thinking now it was light related because the undersides of everything where the light didn't hit as well is not crispy brown

Here's the main stalk

I'm not against the idea or root rot. I've been battling gnats this time around

The one I thought was 2 weeks behind, under the loupe, shows a light sprinkling of amber trichs. The brown one is barely cloudy.

I think the crispy buds will go straight to cure. The greener ones will dry a bit first.

I'll disassemble a bud to look for rottens

If you got root rot the light fries the plant.

No bud rot to be seen. The interiors seem better than the outsides.

Here's the roots...

End of that chapter. I harvested like normal.

Drying.

I have a layered mesh thing.
2' diameter / 6 layers @6"

I have a spider farmer 2x2x6 tent
The mesh thing is in the tent.

The plants are on one layer each. Buds not touching eachother.

Any advice for air flow or humidity control?
I feel like I botched the dry/cure last grow. I dont want to do that again.

60-65 % . Dont leave everything sit there for more than 2 weeks. Get it into the jars after a week or so then burp them. Or paper bags or whichever thing.
The best cured weed ive smoked was always WITHOUT those humidity pack thingies.
