DIY LED with COBs - small medium and large grows

Hey sixstring. Thank god You told me to choose the B one, I was gonna buy the A one (because I thought that it has already the potentiometer) The potentiometer I can buy it here in Argentina, no problems.
About the kelvins, I made a deeper research and it is fine that temperature, autoflowering plants normally stays in vegetative mode for 3 weeks aprox. So it won't stretch too much. (HPS has got like 2500k)
The Cobs, I'll have to buy the CXB3070, because there is not so much difference against the CXB3590 (I know that CXB3590 are much better, but the ratio price/lumens in comparison with the CXB3070 is pretty close and my wallet will apreciate it lol) unless You tell me that there is something really bad about those chips, I'll rethink it... (I'll also use them at 1.4a)
The heatsinks You told me, I read that weights like half a kilo, I need 6,that's 3 kilos, and I'll have to pay like 150 bucks just to get them here and... that's really expensive for me to get them here. So I will have to replace it with CPU coolers...

I've got CXB3070 running at 2100mA off a LPC150 drivers. Heatsinks are Alpine Freezer 64LP. They barely get warm.

Couldn't find the Alpine Freezer 64LP. But I found from Artic Cooling a model called Freezer 64LP, is that one?
If it is, I'll not have to worry at all. Because I thought that You need a good CPU cooler for these chips if You want to run them hard.

as you just saw from toaster,the 3070 is also a good chip lol. have you tried contacting cutter electronics about some of these parts? heres that link

also those newer a version drivers have a dimming pot built into the driver and you can remove a rubber grommet and turn the pot with a small screw driver and dim to 50% .but i like the b versions myself.peace

I've tested from saving lamps of 200W, to HPS and the leds were what I was looking for, but there werent good results or even no proofs if the led was useful, till I found the COBs. And when You told me to choose CXB3590 I thought that maybe there was something wrong with the CXB3070...

About the link, the problem is that they are not from USA :(
All these components I will get, I need to send them to an importer of USA (not sure if I said it correctly) because If I deliver it directly to myself, the duty will stop it and deny the entrance (they only allow 3 exact items per package), so the importer can get me everything and safely.
The only thing that I can deliver it directly to myself is the driver, since I only need 1.

seen some decent grows with those vero chips @ReddEyez just posted also.and now that the gen 7 is out the older ones should be cheaper

Thats what I thought too man, but you know how Digikey is. They are actually more, lol. Just a buck or two, but still.

You could also have a look at Citizen COBs. They're not far from Cree CXB series at a bargain price. Delivery might be tricky, but still.

Doesn't have to be COBs. This was my first setup. About 100W on 1/2 sqare meter. LEDs were a mix of XP-G2, XP-G, XT-E and XP-E emitters from Cree and two BXRA 25W Bridgelux COBs. Mixed spectrum of 2700K, 4000K, 5000K and 6500K with 2700K taking half the power from seed to harvest.

Grown in soil with barely any nutes

You guys really think it's worth the switch to cob? Overall bud quality and flavors are really that much better? I can usually pull about 4 # out of an 8x4 with 2 hps. Could I expect similar yields from an 8x4 with cob? If the yield can stay the same and over all quality goes up it may be worth the switch.

1000 DE. Moving the heat around is a pain but the yields are worth it. But I've seen a few side by side lab tests of COB grows showing that the plants under LEDs had over all greater cannabinoid and terpene profiles. If there's a way to get better results quality wise and maintain yields it seems like it's worth the switch to me.
