Hi guys.

I have soaked my autoflower seeds overnight till they sank when tapped then I germinated them using the paper towel method for 3 days in a dark cupboard

They have nice starting root on each now so I have put into cups with coco coir pre mix with added biochar and watered

Question is do I need to put them under light while they are still under the soil??

I'm still waiting for my light to arrive by post so was hoping this wasnt a massive yes!

At the moment they are sat on my kitchen work top.

I just wanna keep asking to make sure I get everything spot on thanks.

they gonna preferably need light as soon as they pop out of soil ... an everyday 3000k or 5000k around 10W led bulb not too far from the seedling will do the job until you get your light

without enough light they may stretch more than you usually want ...

Thanks that helps I'm ok for a while then hopefully my light comes before they surface!

Don't you already have a small light? That is what you could use for seedlings,
then switch to your new light for veg & bloom.

I use the paper towel in a ziplock bag method when germinating. Whence they sprout tails I transplant them into common 4 inch plastic containers in a slightly diluted version of my living soil. I have a short pencil that I use to make a hole in the center of each cube and transplant seedlings tail side down gently pushing the surrounding soil around the tail kind of like tucking them in leaving the petioles just above soil surface. Moisten.
It is from this moment forward that they get light.

i usually use the light to keep the room warm.but other than that the seed doesnt have any contact with the light while in soil.
but when she pops out the time she is in the dark she will keep stretching and not growing leafs

I'm not sure if your a new grower, but if so go very easy on the water with seedlings. If you soak the soil (it should be slightly moist not soaked) it's the worse thing you can do to a seedling. I water my seedling with a teaspoon...
