30 years ago i was using 1000 watt metal halides and hps lights. these days my budget is tight. while i would say that the costlier lights would be best for optimal growth i am using some fairly inexpensive lights. i would prefer a full spectrum light but am using some others for suplemental lighting. the top light is full spectrum and a focused spectrum light on each side of the plants. total cost for the lights was about $75.Thank you for your response. Yes, I do plan on keeping it here, and no, the window light is not the only source of light. It actually has a lot now, I’ll upload a photo or two as an update, I’ve added in some more lights, and it is now branching.
Bro the flip to 12/12 is already a stressor. Then to wait 2 weeks, perhaps longer, for the plant to sex to then flip back to 18/6?
no?
Wait brother so I’m growing a reg seed rn. Is it 3-6 weeks from sprout to show sex or 3-6 weeks from when it shoots 3 or 4 nodes and is transitioning into the vegetative stage to show sex?Not what I would do either.
I've heard of taking clones from the plant and flipping them.
I know some get leaf tests done as well.
Just start looking for pre flowers around week 3 from germination. If you top your plant though, it will take longer before you see the pre flowers.
If they are feminized seeds, I would top as normal but if regular seeds and wanting to save resources then don't top until you see pre flowers and can sex it correctly.

beautiful what strain is that?30 years ago i was using 1000 watt metal halides and hps lights. these days my budget is tight. while i would say that the costlier lights would be best for optimal growth i am using some fairly inexpensive lights. i would prefer a full spectrum light but am using some others for suplemental lighting. the top light is full spectrum and a focused spectrum light on each side of the plants. total cost for the lights was about $75.View attachment 2194222View attachment 2194225View attachment 2194228
Fingers fucking crossed man. I can’t take another L this year. Here is a basic overview of identifying them and when
How to Tell Sex of Cannabis Plants (with Pictures) | Grow Weed Easy
Learn how to find tiny pre-flowers at the base of each leaf to determine the sex of your plant in the vegetative stage (at only 3-8 weeks from germination)!www.growweedeasy.com
i wish i knew. had several seeds from disp. weed. no telling what it is. very likely it's got a bit of indica. most of what i am producing are showing shorter fatter leaves in general. can't wait till it's done so i can sample it.... : )( :beautiful what strain is that?
Like this? I added another bulb, although in the 3000k spectrum, I plan on flowering early because of the amount of dirt it’s in. The bucket is about 3 gallons? If that? So I figure since it’s going to double in size when flowering, let me start now with whatever dirt is left for those routes to cling on.. with that said, two days ago, I watered this plant, today I find the leaves are drooping… I personally think it’s over watering… but with the new light schedule and all energy going towards branches and new growth for bud, I’m starting to think it needs to be watered regularly or maybe every two days…I can say I have made a few lightsView attachment 2194220
So this is going to be a odd one, the dirt that it’s in now once was a home to an indica plant.. after its cultivation, I mixed up the dirt and removed all traces of old roots, the dirt already had too much nutes… which led to the death of the plant.. after I had flushed, took out old roots, and topped it with some more soil, she shot up like a dope Fien.. my theory is this, since the dirt has nutrients already, the baby plant grew so fast within one week, and it just keeps getting more bigger, I call it the abomination.. I can’t wait to see what type of bud it producesi wish i knew. had several seeds from disp. weed. no telling what it is. very likely it's got a bit of indica. most of what i am producing are showing shorter fatter leaves in general. can't wait till it's done so i can sample it.... : )( :
Sorry ,,, No.................................................................................. Plant is not bushy,, Its stretching for light.Like this? I haven't had to wait longer then 5 to 7 days to see what sex of plant I am growing, then flip back to 18/6.Bro the flip to 12/12 is already a stressor. Then to wait 2 weeks, perhaps longer, for the plant to sex to then flip back to 18/6?

No, you have it all wrong, I didn’t switch the light cycle at all… once I went to 12/12 I stood at 12/12, but I’m trying to mention is that it looks the way it looks because of the lack of light but now that I’ve added more lot, it’s way more bushy, and already have determined the sex, my issue now is little bud sites. Will these grow bigger?Sorry ,,, No.................................................................................. Plant is not bushy,, Its stretching for light.

Its better then growing a male all through Veg just to find out sex .. Once I flip my plants they are already in trellis netting.
I do not have room for male plants in my tents , and its a great way to get fired on the farm.
I only use Regular seeds . Not feminized . I only need one female plant to make thousands of plants .
At first we was pulling every other plant because it was male or a hermaphrodite before I took over the nursery.
When I retired it was every 7th plant was a hermaphrodite. This farm was 300 acers.
What I do, guarantees the sex of the plant...... and I don't have to mess around with seeds wondering how many male plants I am growing.
Allot of the master growers tend to be old school least the one that was my boss was.
He helped his dad grow illegally in Northern California when he was like 10 years old .
When I knew him he had 32 years of growing .
Yep the whole world is going feminized seeds or auto flowering , LOL except me .
Yes. They should grow bigger, but keep in mind that the plant wants more light during the flowering stage than it does during the vegetative stage.my issue now is little bud sites. Will these grow bigger?
Lighting requirements for indoor Cannabis is 30 watts per square foot of grow space .No, you have it all wrong, I didn’t switch the light cycle at all… once I went to 12/12 I stood at 12/12, but I’m trying to mention is that it looks the way it looks because of the lack of light but now that I’ve added more lot, it’s way more bushy, and already have determined the sex, my issue now is little bud sites. Unfortunately you cant really generalize LED 's down to a wattage per sq ft requirement accurately like you could with HID and florescent lighting. Because of the amount of variance between form factors, and the chips and drivers being used, combination of diodes and stuff, every panel will perform pretty differently.Lighting requirements for indoor Cannabis is 30 watts per square foot of grow space .
Example a 2x2 tent=4 square feet = 120 watt grow light .
12/12 lighting and that plant should of been in flowering the whole time ....
The buds will come out airy ... no weight to them.
Only thing your getting is experience
Thanks friend, one more follow up question if you don’t mind, but I was using 3000 K bulbs at first when I decided to flower, I swapped them out for grow bulbs that emit PPF, I seen on some threads that you can use these for both vegetative and flowering. Will this also effect my yield?Yes. They should grow bigger, but keep in mind that the plant wants more light during the flowering stage than it does during the vegetative stage.
