hey guys, as you can see the pictures a couple of my buds have grown taller than the light. I was wondering if this is OK like do buds need direct sunlight to grow and mature or is it OK that a few of them are not directly in the light?

Nope, not good at all. If you can't raise the lights you will have to super crop.

You can see how the buds not getting light are looking like wheat and the ones under light aren't. You're kinda already at the point most folks try and avoid through various training techniques. To get through this grow you might need to bend some branches in half... Look up HST techniques. ideally your gonna ben the branches in half without breaking them so they will heal and still grow from a horizontal position... ie the the little budlets along the branch will grow into better budlets in lieu of a big cola you would have had.

And it's not too early to start thinking about your next grow and the strategies you'll use to keep the plants at optimum distance from the light. Low stress training (LST), topping, fimming, scrogging, etc.

Yeah man.

Take your fan and filter out of your tent, and put it on top of it, but reverse the airflow so it’s blowing through the filter.

And then you can move that light up!

Here's my top loading rig. Pump is screwed on to a piece of plywood. Filter hose clamped right to the pump exhaust.[3 or 4 slits in the filter neck makes her air tight] One small run of hose right into the top vent with zero intrusion into the growing area.

The leaves make the buds. Those are what you want to give max light. Especially the bud site LEAVES.
