Does the size of the plant or the amount of time in veg have any impact on quality? What about spreading the plant out under a screen during flower?

I was told that I grow my plants too big. That if a grew smaller plants I would get higher THC. Of course that was from a small plant guy. Also a good groweri say it has more to do with rootball size than anything.
bigger rootballs bigger buds. and id say healthy root system will make for better quality of buds too. seems logical yeah. im sure others will have better answer for you.. im just learning all this shit my self.
chirs.

Lol my thoughts exactly.im sure he can grow good weed but that sounds like bullshit to me. id get a third opinion for sure.
chris.
I found for me that growing a few bigger plants was easier than growing more smaller ones.
Thats total bullshit. Some of the best growers i know gow 1 plant per 1k light......and this is coming from a guy who grows relatively small plantsI was told that I grow my plants too big. that doesn't make much sense to me......imo its much easier to grow more, smaller plants. The longer something lives the more likely it is to die....or become diseased.I found for me that growing a few bigger plants was easier than growing more smaller ones.

Theres no money in vegging plants my friend .....or fruit for that matter
My veg plants were ready to go into flower and then they developed a deficiency so I just topped them. Cut them back almost a foot so they would have space to grow for a couple weeks while I correct the problem. Just a thought if your plants are too big for flower. Or bending them might help also. What questions do you have?yeah iv been asking for weeks for help to get my grow tent setup so i could flip my plants to 12/12.. was brushed off.. and now my plants are out growing there pots quick. i had to tie them down and dim my grow light on them.
so yeah nice thing about growing bigger roots ( this makes no sense.. more roots they drink more.. what i mean bigger pot ). you do not have to water every fucking 3 days. hah every week is my kind of schedule.
ok, i dunno what im talking about iv gone brain dead.. sorry for adding any confusion.

Thanks for the info. I'm a michigan grower also :)Ed Rosenthal discovered that longer veg time can result in more potent flowers way back before his old guide book.
In my experience it is important for potency and more complexity to at least wait for them to mature. It also helps with stretch on many strains.
But a couple of 12/12 grown and 3 week from seed vegged plants really stand out in my memory and I can't help but wonder if they would have been even stronger.
Awesome I also like to grow 1 plant per 100 light. We have a plant limit here in michigan so I want to get the most out of a plant. I'm not disagreeing with you on what's easier but I started out watering by hand and watering 1 plant once per week was easier than watering 4 plants 3 times per week. BUT I recently became a member of thcfarmer and have learned tons. I've came to the conclusion that water smaller containers more often is best. Well I've evolved since then to wanting to do it the right way instead of the easy way. I still want to grow 1 plant per light because of plant limits tho. I fully understand the risk of a longer veg time. I'm experiencing a problem right now on my 5' tall ladies.Thats total bullshit. so true....i use to grow just monsters thinking bigger=more bud=more loot..nope.jam pack yur space with lil girls for cash.big plants r mostly for looks/bragging rights.least thats my opinion.Theres no money in vegging plants my friend .....

That makes total sense to me.If you test a gg4 in a 5gal vs the same gg4 in a 3 gal, the thc# should be identical. Thc is strain dependant. Unless you fuck up a grow badly, then the thc # will be askewed.
I wish I could pack my space with little ones, especially now that im mostly automated, but I'm limited on plant count. I may not make as much cash but at least I can brag. :) Honestly until I can grow some frosty nugs like I've seen on here I won't be bragging too muchso true....i use to grow just monsters thinking bigger=more bud=more loot..nope.jam pack yur space with lil girls for cash.big plants r mostly for looks/bragging rights.least thats my opinion.
