I see you are supplementing your natural light with fluorescent. I was wondering how your seeds react to an 18/6 - 20 - 4 hr light schedule I normally use to veg in compared to your (what) your 13/11? Do use the fluorescent to extend your daylight hours?
I just saw the lit greenhouse..my bad.

so in hawaii its always flower time...so i add lighting to bring my day light hours to 18. although at the second spot its more I turn the generator on at 7pm at dusk, it has about a 10 hour run time with just fans and led shop lights on, so that spot isnt really getting a set timer, just throwing light as long as the generator is on. overnight.

I spent a couple of years on Oahu through 77-78-79-80 and we were smoking some real good bud back then. I know they weren't growing with lights on. Just back yard growers for the most part. I wasn't sure how those seeds ( and yours I thought) with the volcanic soil and short veg hours would react to our new indoor growing styles. I knew not back then about growing ( not much more now unfortunately smoked a ton + since then though ) . I worked for Windjammer Cruises for a period of time and we had some great connections.

Do you have problems with neighbors complaining about the light at night?

you if you run seed crops over and over you dont need lights here just will have an army of tiny plants. Ive only been liviing in hawaii about 15 months now, so im by no means an expert on the older culture of growing. I will saw from what Ive seen from people here...lot of underripe pm and moldy buds fast dried in shitty methods due to the jungle. definitely not the best place for true top shelf. My seeds I use both hawaii testing and i have a large network of testers on the mainland, indoor, outdoor, deps, west coast east coast canada australia new zealand etc all testing for me, so i get to see how my work preforms in all styles and methods.

Since last I was on thc farmer, we pulled off our final season in Oregon. We did a nice 48 plant outdoor full term garden, and pollinated it all with my Red Jurassic pheno of dragons stash f2.

I did some f3 stock creation and finally took my dragons stash f2 line to f3. Its been god...5 or 6 years now of learning my f2s before feeling confident enough to properly move it from f2 to f3. But, its something Im super proud of and is something im very happy to see come together. My goal is to lock down the Sour blueberry gas fume terp profile, and lock down the mildew/mold resistance, potency, and extreme stability and plant size potential and if I also happen to lock down the red colors to, that's dope but that's secondary.

We also made new more refined versions of a few of my lines I previously used 3 dragons stash f2 males to outcross and went thru a grip of those to see what was happening and what was passed along, and how various males combined with different gals. This time I just used the red pheno, which seems to pass along the blueberry gas the most consistently, as well as the potency. The red color is beautiful for sure, but its not what my selection was about, just an added bonus. Anyway, Im high and rambling now lol.

The recreations were my missys stash - version 2 now (Congolese Kush)
Tahoe Dragon Cookies version 2 (white Tahoe cookies)
Dragons Brew Version 3 now (Blackberry moonshine 12)

Also made a grip of fresh new f1s using my library of mothers. Pretty excited to see how they all test out...gonna definitely be a few years worth of work testing and seeing whats what.

Awesome man. Looks like you got some nice specimens there the tall one in the middle looks like its gonna be a tree I assume that one must be a sativa leaner its much taller. I got some of your genetics gifted to me from coincidentally two different people. One is a Garlic strain the other is called interstate dragon. I feel like every time I get a new grow tent it still isn't enough space LOL . I will eventually be running your stuff looking forward to it but gotta make room finish these runs. Keep it up brother!

that one is my bulgarian moonshine, which is blackberry moonshine x Bulgarian. Broad leaf type, just aggressively vigorous and tall long internodes. generally those one are purple and red so Im hoping to see quite the show!

well...

spot two is now mid week 3, and Ive been working on deleafing, and getting things really for the bulk setting stages of flower. they got their first flower tea, and are chugging right along. Certainly not the best run Ive ever had, but all in all, Im pretty happy with how things look. ended up about 1/4 from clone all mac dragon, and the rest are all seed lines. Got my eye on a few new standouts...we shall see what the rest of flwoer brings!

Looking great... What will you do with the extra flower from the seed runs? After removing my seed stocks last round, I purchased a bit of dry ice and made some keif, (with my sieve bags) and have to say it was pretty impressive. What a fine method of separating crystals from plant matter....

No residue, and very concentrated. I suspect you've developed a few different methods with those many flowers over the years.

Ive done a few methods over the years...If its for myself, I generally would bubble hash it . Comes out darker due to overdrying to make threshing easier, and then from the beating up during threshing...

If its a lot of materail I usually would dry ice or dry sieze hash style.

I have a local friend in hawaii who is going to be processing with butane as well going forward as well.

Yea, I was really impressed with the simplicity of the dry ice style, it really was a very simple process. A clean 3x3 piece of glass to dump it on (I used my glass living room table). I've made quite a bit of RSO over the years, Probably more than any other method. It was an arduous process, not to mention the fumes and some bit of danger involved. The BHO even a little more so, I suppose, working with a gas. I've done that one also a bit.

But aside from the obvious of dangers of freezing a peice of sub-zero -109° F C02 to your skin, the method was pretty straight forward and simple. Most of all, it was fast, and clean, pure & unadulterated. No doubt, a great method for processing bulk amounts, and concentrating it without adding any traces of contaminate.

By the large amounts you've got there, I would be thinking along the lines of how I could refine it in a way, whereas your obtaining layers of more pure fractions.... A skim layer, of sorts. Creating a fraction with a superior terpene profile. I don't know how possible it might be with seeded weed, but it would be interesting to try.

The variance in different finish product in a BHO is pretty amazing. Looks like it's a fine art, of sorts. Depending on the methods used, it can create some pretty different looking end product. Most of my buddies into concentrates are all about the dabs. Some of them are actually CO2 extracts, I believe. So many methods.

You can do what I did back in 2017 and squash all of your leftover flower into one gigantic mega blob of rosin!

I didn't want my aging kush nugs to go to waste. Too old to sell but too much for me to finish smoking by myself. I spent days in my garage squashing all of it in one go! The best thing about concentrates is they last forever! Its 2021 and I still have some of this puck in my freezer! It came out brown but still gets me high and it taste good too! LOL
