I think he wants to be caught, for some people what he does makes him a somekind of heroe.
This is the best publicity for him.

I was wondering if that bust was going to go unnoticed on here. I never used the site, nor would I have, but it is a shame to see it go down. I do have to imagine the guy was pretty sloppy as it didn't seem to take too long for the Fed's to catch up to him.

Did anyone here actually use that site?

That type of biz ain't going anywhere he won't the first"internet/mail drug lord",he won't be the last.its was interesting to look at.the demand is obviously there.i read and that dont mean shit, that he wasn't the original guy"if he's the guy" that it got passed to him, maybe not? also read he dpr was a vender early on. the san fran guy is getting life or practical life in prison all day long.theres a website with all his quotes compiled and there interesting ramblimgs But there not recent.

There probably is already a new 'dread pirate roberts',Isnt that the way it works?.Hopefully this kid stashed away some of those 80 million bitcoin he made on commissions in a treasure chest somewhere.Whatever happened to good old gangster type criminals? This little kid looks like he would flinch if you moved fast and one punch to the nose and he would be giving you his pin codes and anything else you wanted to know,If he ends up in prison he will be eaten alive.

This is a massive story pertaining to our civil liberties and freedoms and in 20 years likely will be looked back on as the start of something way bigger than just one website or one guy. People realize that SR provided reliably high quality drugs which meant SAFER drugs, and I doubt a month goes by before another site is open. There are two operating right now that have been around a year or so.

The thing that they are seizing on to make him look like a bad guy are two fictional "hits" that never happened, and at least one of them played out like DPR knew that he was talking with narcs, and played along with it in order to silence a blackmail attempt without actually killing anyone.

This is HUGE, and is only starting. DPR is a hero, if Ross Ulbricht is his real name well then Ross is a hero. Someone should start passing a hat around to raise funds to break him out of prison, seriously. He made the government look like the inept, useless bunch of idiots they are for over two years. And that was AFTER he had messed up and used his real name during the beginning stages of SR.

very truth. The difference with online vs the streets is the violence. Get the violence out of drugs and let us have the freedom to make choices.

We knew it was going to happen, though, didn't we? I'd rather deal with my dealer face-to-face, in any event. ;)

This is Pandora's box that has been opened. The future consists of decentralized darknet sites that let people buy vetted and approved drugs from sources that are liable to be blacklisted by consumer reviews, minimizing impurity and ripoffs. There are at least 5 operating right now and more on the way, ex-SR admins and the like are working on it as we speak. The people have voted and they want safe access to drugs that are of known purity. This is HUGE!! From now on people EXPECT to be able to obtain their substance of choice safely from one of these sites. . . So there is a reason for people to work hard to make those sites work and stay online.

And since the people who use SR and the other sites are generally in the 20-40 year old age range, in the near future when those current customers of SR are the ones in public office, police, postal service, etc. . . They will naturally push to eliminate all barriers to personal freedom of choice when it comes to drugs and we will have a return to pre-prohibition era times. This is the largest victory for personal freedom that I can think of right now. No stopping it, it's jumped the track and can no longer be prevented.

Follow-up story:

I read a week or two ago that Silk Road is back up with someone else at the helm as Dread Pirate Roberts.

Gotta wonder if the Dread Pirate Westley will open a site...lmao
