Colder water contains more oxygen, so maybe that's sth. to keep in mind during hotter days

Might I ask a question about those okie crosses, got a several different strains from variety, mostly okie's and made notes from him that Okie Crosses take 56-65 flower time.
Last run I pulled the Tokyo snow, purple ice water and grape cream cake aka frostette at day 56 from flip.
After drying a friend checked the trichomes, not that I can't but I just didn't.
There were a lot of clear, some amber, not much cloudy, so trying to ripe them this time a little longer even when they've had one of the strongest high I've ever had, like having a trip, friends felt the same.
I'm at day 40 with clones of them and trying to keep them around 60-65 days from flip this time. By reading how long y pulled your crosses through flower I think I could archive the same ~70 days or maybe longer (ofc only when they're still drinking).

Some count day 14/21 from flip as day 1 of flower...not sure how his interpretation with 56-65 days of flower was.

I know we have huge different setups but besides that did y used long flowering phenos and do y think I could keep em a lot longer as well, like to get some more colours outta them and ofc bigger and heavier buds.

Sorry for the long reading, but you are one of the most experience with okies

Glad to help Red! I am 100% guilty of letting my veg dictate when I harvest. I should skip the 4th cycle of clones in all honesty.
What’s the old stoner talking about you say? Okie’s need a little longer than I’ve been giving them, I’ll have the next plant ready before these gals are truly done.
Days in flower is tricky, which is why I go with flower starts when I can see flowers, otherwise it’s pre flower or days from flip.
Weight is being added as long as they are drinking, let em ride long as you can

This helps me further.
Understandable when doing perpetual, my timeline for the grows are timed for the 60/60 method to get a good harvest.
Makes sense to count the time from seeing actual flower.
Letting my girls run way longer this time, thanks for the advice!

Plum Crazy x Okie- preflower day 0
Last run for her and Michigan, polar opposites requiring lots of attention. Awesome smoke but can’t say I’m going to miss growing her

Had to take a road trip yesterday so I made sure to check out a grow store;

Shop New Earth Organics & Hydroponics in Jeffersontown

New Earth offers a vast range of organic and hydroponic products in Jeffersontown, KY. Stop by or shop online today!
newearthgardencenter.com

If you’re ever in the Louisville area check em out, nice guys. What they have done with grow tents!!!!! Spider and AC both have some awesome stuff for small grows and seed starting. Seriously cool

So I’m checking out and see an HID ballast. I said something about it and dude looks at me and says “yeah don’t see those often any more” and I reply “I see 3 every day”. The look on young dude’s face…

Other side of the ridge maybe 400 yds but a heck of a hike. Black bear den in between. Got a camera to hang towards the caves this winter so I have proof. Folks think I’m nuts. Was showing my dude the bark of some dead cedars that had been peeled in 1/2 “ wide strips. Look up how black bears eat insects I told him, he text me later asking just how far we were from them, text back “not far at all”

They are already running into a lot of problems with wolves! And I saw where they wanted to work on a roadmap for re-introducing grizzlies to cali. I don’t think so! Lol!

I’m good off the grizz the goofy little black bears around here can cause enough problems. I can’t imagine seeing a grizzly in person! they have some tours in Alaska. Ok, yeah that would be pretty cool! I’m all for the wolves : ) why not few grizzly too right, what could go wrong

Weekly
The Wife’s- getting their grove going. Climbers hit the trellis but I don’t think soapwart likes wet feet. In the flowering family it happens often
Cloner- it’s a veg at this point, time to thin the herd
Veg- lemon tree x Okie up next. The other half of my top 2.
Current genetics
Pure Michigan x Okie
Lemon Tree x Okie
Apples and Bananas x Okie
White Runtz x Okie
P4516 x Okie
Plum Crazy x Okie
Candy Rain x Gojo
Maui 86
Jealousy

Seed Supreme- they all germinated but only 2 sprouted. That’s vigor, how much energy does that seed pack in its shell. I plant 3 seeds to get 2 plants. If I thought every seed was perfect I’d only plant 2 but let’s be real. There’s no 100%.
Plum crazy - 4 days pre flower
Pure Michigan- 3 weeks flower and she’s holding true to form. Those are 18” long buds and a bunch of em

Apples and Bananas- 6 weeks flower

Decarb day here in the shop. Slight breeze is nice even with a scrubber this is a stinking project.
240 for 40 is my goal. Yeah oven is off 10.
Recipe is 12 O / 2 gl refined coconut oil
I figured out it’s easier to get this part out of the way. One tip- let the flower cool with the lid on or it dries out quicker

That’s about the temp and duration I shoot for! Are you talking 12 ounces to make 2 gallons of oil? If so, what made you decide 2 gallons? Why not a gallon and a half or 1 gallon of stronger? Love edibles! Maybe the math is already in place for 2 gallon lots?

12 ounces decarbed and ground. 2 gallons of oil

Why these amounts? Started with an ounce per quart, but that went too quick
Changed equipment and did 4 ounces per gallon, but I wanted it stronger. So I upped it to 6 ounces per gallon, that worked real good but again, it didn’t last.
Changed equipment again, currently doubled the last at 12 / 2 gl.

Not much science in this recipe, but it works. All ways open to new ideas so if ya got a different recipe send it on over!
