All my flowers drink from a cattle trough. It's been about 15 years since I've done a grow diary here so I figured it was time to update things. Like a lot of my fellow growers here I'm getting old and my health isn't good. Ruptured disk etc...
Never made or smoked it, but it sure looks smokable! Could you warm it up a little and then work it like a piece of hash to get a little more even consistency? Two cents from the peanut gallery! Some times things just don’t go the way you think. I’ve pressed rosin a time or 2 before so I had an idea what to expect for an outcome. Not even close to what I expected. Those batch is as hard and dry as shatter. Not remotely sticky, flakes off the wax paper after it’s cooled to room temperature. There will be a use for it but it’s not what I wanted.
What went wrong? The plant needed a couple more weeks in flower. Simple, and such a dumb mistake View attachment 2555590

That’s the first option that came to mind chuck. Crunch it up into a powder and roll little rosin balls in it. Redneck version of a moon rock lolNever made or smoked it, but it sure looks smokable! Gotten to where I enjoy a few drops of RSO on a bowl of green. Pressing didn’t work for this particular flower, Everclear will strip it clean

Couldn’t find a pic so I’m thinking it’s a discontinued model. All the newer ones I saw are compact, this old thing takes up some room but it’s a beast and I like it.What press are you using? I tried a couple tabletop sized presses and never got the hang of it. Results were pretty terrible
I pretty much make ot all into RSO these days
Lots of practice but usually I can pull 15% of the weight which makes pressing a viable alternative. This time not so muchIm jealous of those who actually get a really good return on the rosin press machines
Is it just the overall return % or are you getting less than that? Might be like what JJ says and could just be the strain, or is there a chance your parameters are off a bit? I’ve only used a hair straightener and vice a couple of times just to see what would happen. There was a big difference in quality and quantity based on how hot i got the straightener and how dry or wet the herb was. I could see some of that playing a factor when you are pressing larger amounts.Im jealous of those who actually get a really good return on the rosin press machines
Took a few tries to get the flood cycle timed right. 30 minutes on 2:30 off. Feeds em 8 times a dayCheck out those roots!!
Some day I’ll get me one of those roto evaporator things, someday. Until then I’m still learning.2 ounces fine ground flower each wash, soaked 24 hours each. Shaken often.
RSO can be unique to each processor, some do a rapid wash and not shaken so it’s really how you like itView attachment 2556611
I'm getting ready to make some samplers of my summer flowers. Some day I’ll get me one of those roto evaporator things, someday. Until then I’m still learning.
4 ounces flower
500 ml Everclear
= 30 ml of something good View attachment 2558162
He smokes it mixed with rosin haha.what he smokes is superman doses.only sick people drink canna oil and its soo powerfull its not fun anymore.unless you are a super heavy user i wouldnt recommend it for youI'm getting ready to make some samplers of my summer flowers.
My plan is to fill 8oz canning jars with broken up flower, put in freezer with ISO. Do a quick wash, then into 4oz jelly jars. Then put the jars in my dehydrator to drive off the alcohol. The dehydrator is on the unheated porch so I'll leave a window cracked for fresh air.
Still deciding how to cut it for consumption. What do you do with it?
