Drinking from a Cattle Trough

I really enjoyed growing these! Did mine outdoors, started them indoors. They grew awesomely, and loved to get topped! : )

Weekly- for the first time since it was built in 2021 I’m frozen. Or at least all my water lines are, supply and drain. There’s still all that white and ice so time for plan b. Just got to figure out what plan b is

The Wife’s— there’s some plants that just don’t like wet feet. Self thinning
Cloner- cut yesterday
Veg- nothing germinated might put a few more in
White Runtz- stretch is in full force, 1 week flower
Candy Rain-4 weeks flower
Project okie- 7 weeks flower

Time to bust out a heater enough just to keep the lines open!

Got any of that plan B going yet?

Not yet but I’m thinking it’s time. Got one pump that’ll be dry by morning

I know you are dialed with your setup. And im very high right now. But could you change up the duration and feed strength of your system to keep the lines from freezing?

It’s a closed system. Meaning I fill a barrel after everything is full. When they drink their troughs empty I’ll refill from the barrel. Problem is getting the barrel full but I got the Mrs helping now …..

How far from a water source is your storage barrel? My collection/storage is a 44gal Brute trash can in a bathroom, hooked to 1/4" RO outlet with a float valve in the barrel. This is 20' down the hall from my grow room. I pump water from the barrel to the room with a 3/4hp sump pump plugged into a smart outlet that I control with my phone; from anywhere with wifi signal. Same could be done with an ice-maker hook-up. You could run the 1/4" tubing as far as needed to reach your storage barrel

Dandy idea Mike! My garage, where the grow is located, is separate from the house. I use 100’ of hose to reach it, normally it doesn’t stay this cold this long. Today is about 10 days under freezing with highs in the 40’s. Time to thaw hopefully

Spider mites - edition #364

Being perpetual means you get to know your insects that you live with. It’s about control because I know I’ll never get completely rid of the little guys.
Early is key, I just sprayed 3 weeks ago but they are back. It was captain jack’s then and I burnt hairs trying to get them. Going back with captain jack’s although weaker solution simply because harvest is close for her. Grow safe would have dealt with this had i used it first.

Weekly
The Wife’s- 6” growth in 24 hours for the climbers. First resv change coming up, meaning, $3.50 for the first month so it’s a cheap hobby
Cloner- 8 days cut. This system will keep about anything growing for 7 days. First casualty at 8 days
Veg- had 1 of 7 give me a tail, probably all it’s going to do if history repeats itself. Time to thin down
White Runtz- I had forgotten that she stretches late, did I say stretch? Covers it wall to wall in the 4x4 for 2 weeks into flower
Candy Rain- 5 weeks, she went down early last run if I recall correctly
Project Okie- 8 weeks and she’ll be coming down shortly. I could get the scope out but she’s stopped drinking, about all a person needs to know really

There’s a purple shine to her when the lights hit her just right. She’s going to be your friend so treat her right and you’ll get the most dense nug you’ve ever grown in return

Project Okie- just shy of 10 weeks flipped. She’s had mites but you’d never know it. Been around for a couple years now and hopefully a few more to come

Thanks my friend!
She finished under a 600 but that was just the last couple weeks, the majority of her time was spent under a 1k hps. My grow is vertically challenged so I have to start dropping watts sooner rather than later
