I have some problems with the voice texting. Otherwise, it's a computer in my pocket. It is my lifeline should I fall somewhere on the property, because that's already been put to the test prior to me owning it and I know for a fact--no one can hear me unless they're right where I am. One of the last times I fell, Dave was just inside, no tv or anything on and all the windows were open, and I had to yell for a while, and as loud as I could, before he heard me, and that was relatively close to the house. Out back I'd be straight fucked, especially if I went down by the greenhouse, the brush is very thick and it's a good distance to other houses.
Because of my Android devices, I haven't had to use a Windows computer since mid-2011, I can do all my banking, etc, on that. I don't think I can emphasize how much more convenient it makes that aspect of life. (I use a bank that doesn't have any branches outside of Texas, so deposits, etc, all must be done electronically or by snail mail.) In my pocket I have a calendar, the internet, a phone, a camera, a video camera, access to my email, in short, I'm connected to the rest of the world and am able to record many things, like the condition of my vehicle when we bought it vs how it was returned to me from a particular repair shop (which saved my ass, because they denied doing any damage, until I said, Um, I have photos of what it looked like before it was brought in), I can do my banking on the fly, pay my bills on the fly.. about the only thing I can't do is generate documents easily. For that I go back to the desktop. Otherwise..? We live in modern times and I dig it. Oh! I can Skype with my Smartphone! I love that!
My husband, on the other hand... he doesn't seem too happy with Smartphones on the whole. I think I'm gonna get him a Jitterbug for Christmas. Hehhehheh.
